Amity University signs an MoU with University of Buenos Aires, Argentina

 A high- level delegation from Argentina comprising of Mr. Carlos Greco, President of the Argentine National Interuniversity Council and Rector of the San Martin University and Mr. Guillermo Tamarit, Rector of the National University of the Northeast of Buenos Aires Province and President of the International Affairs Commission of the National Interuniversity Council and Ms. Cecilia Siberberg, Head Political Division, Embassy of Argentina in India, visited Amity University Noida campus.

On this occasion, a MoU was signed between Amity University and The School of Agriculture of the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the aim to promote student mobility, encourage short-term visiting professor programs by delivering lectures, carry out joint research and studies and introduce summer and immersion programs for the students.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Guillermo Tamarit, Rector of the National University of the Northeast of Buenos Aires´s Province and President of the International Affairs Commission of the National Interuniversity Council, stated, “Food and nutrition is a major concern area In Argentina and through this MoU we will work together and find solutions to the existing problems and challenges. This will also foster social integrity and student mobility between the two institutions.”

Mr. Carlos Greco, President of the Argentine National Interuniversity Council and Rector of the San Martin University, averred, “This is the beginning of a long lasting, mutually beneficial relationship between Amity University and University of Buenos Aires. We would like to invite the students and faculty of Amity University to share their knowledge and experience with our students and work together for the development of both the institutions.”

Presenting an overview of the Amity Education Group, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, said, “Amity believes in fostering strong ties with premiere institutions of the world so that students can get immense global exposure which is extremely important for their career progression in today’s day and age. Cooperation between Universities contributes to institutional development, enhances teaching skills and promotes development of technological and cultural research. We are not only looking at collaborating in the areas of agriculture, food and nutrition but also other areas including nanotechnology, management, information technology, engineering, amongst others.”

Highlighting the significance of the MoU, Dr. Nutan Kaushik, Director General, Amity Food & Agriculture Foundation, opined, “The collaboration between Amity University and University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, marks the beginning of a long-standing partnership between the two Universities which will benefit the students and help in achieving better research outcomes in the field of agriculture, food and nutrition, which will address the societal needs, thereby serving their nation.”

Also present on the occasion were Rear Admiral Alok Bhatnagar, Deputy Director General, International Affairs Division, Dr. B. C. Das, Chairman, Amity Institute of Molecular Medicine & Stem Cell Research (AIMMSCR) and other senior faculty members of Amity.
