Amity University collaborates with Monash University Australia

 A high- level International Delegation from Monash University, Australia comprising of Professor Sharon Pickering, Acting Provost and Senior Vice-President, Professor Craig Jeffrey, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), and Professor Sarah McDonald, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience), Monash University visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus. The aim of the visiting delegation was to discuss the existing partnership and also take the opportunity to discuss the new provisions of NEP 2020 for Dual Degree, Joint Degree, Twinning Programs and other faculty mobility and research areas.

 

Addressing the gathering Professor Sharon Pickering, Acting Provost and Senior Vice-President, Monash University, averred, “At Monash University, student experience is of utmost important and therefore we are looking at creating a network and forming meaningful collaborations with other institutions so that our students can get exposure to engage with various institutions of the world including Amity, since Amity is one of the most reputed institutions globally. We are also looking at strengthening ties between Monash University Malaysia and Amity since Malaysia is an important region for Monash. We have seen how India is moving forward and partnering with organizations in India during these great times will be highly beneficial for both institutions.”

 

Professor Craig Jeffrey, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), Monash University, said, “We are glad to be here at Amity and Australian culture is very similar to that of India since people of both countries are very warm and welcoming. The collaboration will be fruitful for both Universities and will mark the beginning of a new era of knowledge and learning.”

 

Highlighting the significance of the collaboration, Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University stated, “Amity has always believed in establishing strong ties with premiere institutions of the world so that students can get immense global exposure which is extremely important for their career progression in today’s day and age. Amity is looking at a large-scale partnership with Monash University through various programs which will widen the perspective of students on different topics and subjects.”

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Sarah McDonald, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience), Monash University opined, “We are very excited to collaborate with Amity University since the collaboration will not only result in enhancing the educational experience but also help in the cross-cultural exchange between the two countries.”

Presenting an overview of the Amity Education Group, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, said, “Amity University is looking forward to partner with Monash University in the areas of mass communication, psychology, climate change, green technology and sustainability management. Both universities can devise joint strategies and develop joint programmes to embark on a mutually beneficial relationship. In addition, under the NEP 2020, there are multiple opportunities to explore joint research initiatives, master’s programs, PhD programs, joint conferences and seminars.”

During the visit, the delegation took a round of the Amity University Campus including the Central Library, Amity Innovation Incubator and the high-tech laboratories. Also present on the occasion were Rear Admiral Alok Bhatnagar, Deputy Director General, International Affairs Division and the HOIs of various institutions.
