Amity University Uttar Pradesh organizes a Collaborative Programme in association with Akashvani, to celebrate India’s G-20 Presidency
Amity University Uttar Pradesh organized a Collaborative Programme in association with Akashvani, to celebrate India’s G-20 Presidency. The Programme was a creative mix of education, information and entertainment, wherein student deliberations on relevant themes related to G-20, were held, including “Tourism: India Land of opportunities” by Ms. Alice Jain-Amity Institute of Travel & Tourism(AITT), “Mission Millet” by Ms. Deepika Sundriyal- Amity Institute of Organic Agriculture(AIOA), “Skill Development and Entrepreneurship” by Mr. Raghav Attrey- Amity Business School(ABS), “Sustainable Development” by Ms. Soumya Raj- Amity Institute of Environmental Sciences(AIES), “Renewable & Alternate Energy” by Ms. Sneha Sajy-Amity Institute of Renewable and Alternative Energy(AIRAE), “Sports and Yoga” by Mr. Abhishek Prasad- Amity School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences(ASPESS), “Digital India” by Ms. Dikshya Choudhury- Amity Institute of Information Technology (AIIT) and “Diversity” by Mr. Amrendra Kumar Singh- Amity Institute of Social Sciences (AISS).
Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) M. Sajnani, Dean- Faculty of Hospitality & Tourism, said, “We are grateful to Akashvani for collaborating with Amity to conduct this Programme which will provide an opportunity to the students to deliberate upon pertinent topics, celebrate the culture of India through their performances and encourage them to contribute to nation building.”
Vibrant dance performances by the students of Amity were also organized including “Bharatnatyam” of Southern India, “Santhali” of Odisha and “Bihu” of Assam. Punjabi Sufi Singer Yakub Gill mesmerised the audience with his rendition of Sufi songs such as “Sayyoni” and “Challa”. The anchor for the Programme was Mr. O.P. Rathore, well-known Radio Jockey from Akashvani and Certificates were given to the student participants who deliberated on G-20 topics. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Dean-Faculty of Management Studies, HOIs and faculty members along with the students of Amity University, who were present in large numbers.
