2nd Biennial International Symposium on ‘Fluids and Thermal Engineering (FLUTE 2023)’, organized by Amity University

Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET), Amity University Uttar Pradesh Noida Campus organized the 2nd Biennial International Symposium on ‘Fluids and Thermal Engineering (FLUTE 2023)’ on the theme, “Scientific and Technological Advances in Materials for Energy Storage and Conversions” from, 20 July to 21 July, 2023.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Prof. Onkar Singh, Vice Chancellor, Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, averred, “The theme of the Symposium is very apt, considering the new-age problems of sustainability in a developing world. Students of engineering mostly opt for Computer Science for specialization; however, it is not only Computer Science which can aid in the development, but it is mechanical engineering through which the infrastructure can be developed to support the emerging technologies used in many other areas.”

Dr. Alok Jain, Director, Centre for Personal Talent management, DRDO, said, “In the last few years, there has been a rapid change in the global economy, however, the change has costed us the environment and burning fossil fuel and industrialization have had a highly adverse impact on the environment. Therefore, there is a need to develop sustainable new systems and environment-friendly technologies to safeguard the environment.”

Sharing the way ahead and Road Map for the Future, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President Amity Education Group, stated, “The Symposium is very important for the career progression of the students, which will encourage them to work dedicatedly for the society and country. All students are a source of young energy, and they must set a goal for themselves and remain focussed on their mission. The symposium will pave a new wave of energy amongst the students and foster novel ideas and thoughts.”

Highlighting the significance of the Symposium, Prof. K Murlidhar, IIT Kanpur opined, “This Symposium will foster joint research initiatives and collaboration, through which sustainable technologies can be developed. Adopting a multi-disciplinary approach for developing cost-effective systems and technologies, is the need of the hour.”

Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “A highly distinguished scientists and academicians have gathered here to highlight the need for efficient, clean and renewable power sources, which will foster a better fundamental understanding of the electrochemical, physicochemical and structural properties of functional materials and fabricated devices, crucial for developing clean-energy technologies.”

During the two-day Symposium, out of a total of 300 research papers, 100 were selected for publishing in research Journals. A galaxy of distinguished Guest Speakers from prestigious organizations such as NITs, IITs, DRDO and other renowned research-focused institutions shared their knowledge and experience with the participants. Also, present on the occasion were Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation foundation, Dr. Manoj Pandey, Director, Amity School of Engineering and Technology and Prof. Basant Singh Sikarwar, HOD – Mechanical Engineering, Amity University Noida, along with the students and faculty of Amity School of Engineering and Technology.
