24 students from U.K. Universities participate in
a month-long “India Immersion Programme-2023”, organized by Amity University
Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus, commenced its “India Immersion Programme-2023”, during which a batch of 24 students from UK Universities including Northumbria University, Nottingham Trent University and University of Sussex, will be residing at Amity University, Noida campus, for a month, from 14th July to 12th August 2023.
Highlighting the significance of the Programme during the Inaugural Ceremony, Mr. Michael Houlgate, Deputy Director, British Council, New Delhi, stated, “The Programme will be highly significant for the students since it will provide immense learning and exposure to the students and enhance their skills and knowledge. The students will be able to learn from the expertise of their peers and develop their overall personality and by adapting to new situations and scenarios, they will become future-ready. Patience and emotional intelligence are some of the key virtues which the students will imbibe during this Programme, which will prepare them for future competitiveness. The Programme is being conducted at the right time as UK-India bilateral relationship is being strengthened by forming new people to people connections. In addition, visit to various Indian heritage sites will enhance their understanding of the rich Indian culture including its people, music, festivals, and food.” He advised the students to interact with their peers and professors to make the most of this opportunity and utilize it to the fullest.
Presenting an Overview of the Amity Education Group, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, averred, “The Programme is aimed at providing immense learning and exposure to the students and strengthen the cultural exchange between India and UK. During their visit, the students will be attending lectures on a variety of subjects and will also be taken for industry visits and sightseeing trips during their stay at Amity University, Noida Campus. The students will also be visiting Agra and Jaipur as part of the programme and we hope that the students will have many take-aways and great experiences to share after the completion of the program.”
During the Inaugural programme, the students from U.K. Universities introduced themselves and took a round of the Amity campus including the Central Library, Amity Innovation Incubator and high-tech laboratories. Also present on the occasion were Ms. Vishu Sharma, Senior Project Manager, Higher Education (Mobility) British Council and Rear Admiral Alok Bhatnagar, Deputy Director General, International Affairs Division, Amity University along with the HOIs of Amity.
