Amity students showcase their path-breaking Technological Innovations during “Technovate-2023”
Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus organized “Technovate – 2023”, a Poster & Project Presentation by the students of Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET). The event was organized with the aim of selecting brilliant and talented students for research projects in Engineering & Technology, finding opportunities for Interdisciplinary Research, identifying innovative ideas of students that could be converted to patents and publications, appreciating Student Innovators and motivating them to work on research and innovation, with more focus and precision.
Explaining about the scope and future of Internet of Things(IoT), Ms. Papiya Raipal, Country Director & Vice President, Kigen, asserted, “Internet of Things (IOT) is the most significant technological advancement of this century. The convergence of various technologies has led to the evolution of these things. The enhancement of real-time analytics, commodity sensors, machine learning and embedded system have developed a pathway for the evolution of the Internet of Things.” Motivating the students of Amity, she further added, “Give your 200% to whatever you do, learn new skills and work hard. Also staying innovative and thinking ahead go a long way in achieving success in your endeavours. “
Addressing the gathering during the Inaugural Session, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation, stated, “A country can only develop when it focusses on research and innovation and Amity lays a strong focus on research and innovation. Amity students have created some unique innovations which will be transferred to the industry, thereby benefitting the society at large. Amity is preparing future Scientists of the world who will lead their country on the path of research and innovation and make their country proud. “
Welcoming the guests on this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Pandey, Director, Amity School of Engineering & Technology, AUUP, Noida, averred, “It is a glorious day for Amity students as they showcase their unique innovations in front of the industry leaders. This event will also measure the outcomes of the students and will be the proof of transforming their learning into practical applications through the development of some unique technologies and innovations.”
On display were about 48 projects and 350 posters showcasing path-breaking innovations which included “Smart devices based on Mechanical Application using Solar Energy”, a solar enabled hut whose roof is covered with the solar panels, making it capable of protecting the crops from birds and animals. Another path-breaking innovation was the “Vertical take-off and landing”, which is a drone with the capabilities of both a multi-rotor and fixed wing unmanned aerial vehicle. The drone can take off and land vertically just like conventional multi-rotor and has high endurance capabilities of fixed wing UAV. The “Electric Scooter with Parental Control”, designed by the students using chemical based liquids, is an environment friendly e-vehicle which helps in reducing carbon emission. Since liquids are better at conducting heat than air, therefore the liquid coolant efficiently removes heat and cools the components, thereby preventing thermal runaways which may lead to fire.
Also present during the Inaugural Session were, Ms. Nirmala Venkat, Global People Advisor, Kigen, Mr. Anil Singh, Carelon Global Solutions, Ms. Shaveta Rani, Associate Architect, Carelon Global Solutions, and the senior faculty of ASET. The innovations were evaluated and assessed by the jury members and results were declared during the Valedictory Session.
