Amity Youth Fest -2023 commences at Amity Scintillating Performances by the students enthrall the audience

 Amity University organized Amity Youth Fest -2023 from 31stMarch-1st April 2023, with the aim to hone the skills and nurture the talent of the students of Amity for their holistic development, through various activities. This year Amity Youth Fest has achieved a new milestone with more than 135 competitions being organised wherein more than 13,000 students from Amity campuses across the globe have participated, including 200 teams from 35 countries. The events include inter-institutional and cultural competitions at national level, workshops, start-up expos, entertainment and cultural events, Solo Singing and dance Competitions, Painting and Digital Art Competition, Amity International Literature Festival, and many others.

 

Speaking about the emergence of India as a great Economic, Digital and Creative Superpower during the Inaugural Programme, Guest of Honor, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, averred, “Today, we are digitally connected with each other which is the creation of a new India, under the visionary leadership of our Honorable Prime Minister, who set a mission of creating a new India by combining Indian intelligence with information technology.  Today, India's population is about 140 crore and there are about 120 crore mobile phones, and 130 crore people own an Adhaar Card. In addition, the bank account of crores of people have been opened, who are availing the benefits being provided by the government. In Digital India, not only studies were conducted online but even courts conducted online hearings. At present, there are more than 1 lakh startups in India and about 100 startups are included in Unicorns. India’s win at the Oscars is a testimony to India’s emergence as a great creative power.”  He further called upon the students to join politics so that they can serve the country, dream big and work hard to fulfill their dreams.

 

Addressing the gathering, Guest of Honor, Shri Rajendra Prasad, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, asserted, “The discussions and incidents which take place in the Parliament have a huge impact on the whole country because representatives from all over the country participate in Parliament Sessions. The behaviour and conduct of each member of the Parliament is important since the people elected to the Parliament are accountable to the people of the whole country. Therefore, Parliamentarians must be extremely mindful and cautious of their conduct and behaviour in public domain.” He further explained in detail about the functioning of Parliament including the Question Hour, Zero Hour, Q&A session, amongst other aspects.

 

Sharing his words of wisdom, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group, stated, “Amity Youth Fest is the most vibrant and visually attractive events, organized by Amity students where they showcase their talent and creativity through various forms such as music and dance. Amity firmly believes that by the year 2030, India will become a global superpower and the students and faculty of Amity are playing a crucial role in contributing to the scientific and economic development of the country. Nation-building is only possible by nurturing the youth of the country and providing them a platform to showcase their skills in every field.”

 

Highlighting the significance of the Programme, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “Amity Youth Fest is the brainchild of our Hon’ble Chancellor Sir, Dr. Atul Chauhan, which aims to unite the students of all campuses of Amity Universities in India and abroad. It is an annual extravaganza organized completely by the students and for the students. Youth is the future of the country, and the development of the country is solely dependent on the youth’s development. This year, the fest comprises of more than 15 participating teams from other countries as well, apart from Amity campuses within the country. Challenges create new opportunities and by organizing these fests m, students get the opportunity to face the challenges and overcome them successfully.”

 

Welcoming the guests on the occasion, Prof (Dr) Marshal Sahni, Chairperson, AYF’23, said, “Overall personality development of students, besides imparting quality education, is the thrust area of Amity University so as to ensure that the students are not only excellent professionals but also become good individuals, with an understanding and regard for human values, pride in their heritage and culture. This mission forms the backdrop of Amity Youth Festival (AYF) organized every year by the University Students keeping in mind the significance of Innovation, Interaction, Communication and Technology.” 

 

The Inaugural Programme included cultural music and dance performances by the students of Amity showcasing the rich and diverse culture of the country, in the form of Bhangra dance, Bihu dance, Bharatnatyam, Odissi and many other scintillating performances. The Programme was attended by the faculty and students of Amity in large numbers and the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Aditya Tomer, Co-Chairperson, AYF’23.
