G20 Elocution Competition organized by Amity University

 

Amity School of Engineering Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, in association with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Noida, organized an Elocution Competition for the students of Amity, as a “Vigilance Awareness Programme”, which is one of the mandates of G20. Drisshyaa Duggal, Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences (AIPS) was the winner of the competition while Shriya Shukla, ASET and Talha Hameed, ASET, secured the second and third positions, respectively.

 

The event was aimed at preventing corruption, as well as maintaining national integrity. The topic for the Elocution competition was “How to make our country corruption free?” and it called for views from the youth. After a competitive preliminary round, 20 enthusiastic students from across several disciplines like Engineering, Management, Psychology, Design, Biotechnology etc. were chosen for the final round. All the participants presented their respective cases, facts and opinions on how to combat the growing issue of corruption within our country. Their enthusiasm for the theme and passion to make this country a better place was reflected in their speeches.

 

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest, Shri Abhay Kishore, GM - Vigilance, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, averred, “The youth are the future leaders of the country and they must be committed to the nation and work for the benefit of the society. Making India Corruption-free must be the dream of every student and they must come together in their fight against corruption.” 

Also, present on the occasion was Shri Yogesh Agarwal, Manager - Vigilance, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.

 

During the welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Pandey, Joint Head, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “Such activities are highly significant as they provide the opportunity to the students to attain knowledge, showcase their talent and contribute to the development of the country.”

 

Dr. Madhuri Kumari, Deputy Director, Placements and Industry Relations, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, introduced the theme, its importance and explained the rules of the competition.

 

The participants received participation certificates and a token of gratitude from the esteemed panel of judges. The event ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Anjali Jain, Assistant Professor - EEE, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University, Noida.
