Amity University and University of Ottawa discuss the Potential Areas of Collaboration

 A high-power delegation from University of Ottawa, Canada, visited Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Amongst the distinguished dignitaries were Prof. Jacques Frémont, President and Vice-Chancellor, University of Ottawa and Prof. Sanni Yaya - Vice-President, International, University of Ottawa and the aim of their visit was to explore the potential areas of collaboration, in view of the vision and mission of Amity towards international collaborations with leading Global Universities.

Speaking about the collaboration, Prof. Jacques Frémont, President and Vice-Chancellor, University of Ottawa, averred, “It is a matter of great pride and privilege for us that we have visited the prestigious Amity University today to explore the areas of research and academic collaboration. University of Ottawa is amongst the top 150 Universities worldwide and the focus on research and innovation is a common thread between us and Amity University. Through this mutually beneficial collaboration, we will be able to further expand our horizon with the exchange of knowledge and learning between the two Universities.”

Highlighting the potential areas of partnership, he further added, “International Student Exchange Program, Teacher Mobility, Tailor-made Administrative Training, Exchange of Faculty Members for Teaching and Mobility of Administrative Staff are some of the ways in which we can collaborate.”

 

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Sanni Yaya - Vice-President, International, University of Ottawa, Canada, said, “Collaboration is no longer optional, it is highly essential for the growth of an individual, institution and a country. Especially, educational institutions cannot attain excellence on their own and must partner with other institutions of the world for providing their students with global exposure, to address the major global challenges. We are certain that this partnership will contribute significantly to academic and scientific development of the world.”

Speaking about the scope of the collaboration, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, stated, “We would like to focus on a few priority areas for this collaboration and are looking at a partnership in the field of Business Management, Psychology, Engineering and Technology. Through our Study Abroad Programs, we will further strengthen this association and with a strong focus on joint research in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cyber Security, Machine Learning amongst others, we aim to provide immense research opportunities to our students for academic excellence. Also, we will prepare a calendar of activities for the same and delegate responsibilities to our faculty members for each of these focus areas to be implemented successfully.”


During the visit, the dignitaries interacted with the faculty and students of Amity, where the faculty members shared their valuable inputs and suggestions for a strong collaboration. The dignitaries also visited the high-tech laboratories, Central Library, Amity School of Communication (ASCO) and Amity Innovation Incubator to familiarize themselves with the campus facilities
