Experts deliberate on the “Evolution of Smart Appliances and Devices” during the “International Mobile and Embedded Technology Conference, MECON-2022”, at Amity University

Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus organized “International Mobile and Embedded Technology Conference, MECON-2022”, on the theme, “Evolution in Smart Appliances and Devices”, in virtual mode. 

 

MECON-2022 aimed to bring together Professionals, Academicians, Industry Experts, and Researchers to discuss various emerging trends and innovations, share research results and new directions in the field of next generation technologies.  The Conference saw participation from over 40 distinguished international experts and speakers from USA, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Malaysia, Germany, Sweden, Singapore, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, UAE & India and IEEE Fellows of leading Universities in India and abroad. The Conference was Co-sponsored by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE UP Section (India), IEEE Antenna and Propagation Society & IEEE Technical Council on RFID, IEEE Delhi Section. 

 

Addressing the gathering during the Inaugural Session, Chief Guest- Prof. (Dr). Saifur Rahman, 2022 IEEE President-Elect, Joseph Loring Professor & Director, Virginia Tech Advanced Research Institute, Arlington, Virginia, USA, averred, “The conference will be extremely significant in highlighting the tremendous advances made in Mobile Communications and Embedded Systems Technology, combined with rapid evolution in smart appliances and devices. It will emphasize on new challenges and problems requiring interaction between different network layers and applications to offer advanced services. Amity University has the most diverse presence in the world and the theme of the Conference is very relevant as it brings Industrial revolution to the forefront of research. 

Admiring the high standards of the conferences organized by Amity, Guest of Honor, Prof. (Dr.) Kazuya Kobayachi, Chuo University, Tokyo, Japan & Honorary Professor, Amity University, stated, “The Conferences organized by Amity are a testimony to the high standards of Amity in terms of technology, infrastructure facilities, speakers and participants. Through this conference, we will be able to identify the remarkable advancements in Mobile Communications and Embedded Systems Technology and I’m certain that the conference will be highly successful in making path-breaking advancement in the field of technology.” 

 

Sharing his views at the Conference, Prof. (Dr.) Satish K Singh, Associate Dean (IRGL), IIIT Allahabad, Chairman, IEEE UP Section, expressed, “We are grateful to Amity for providing all kinds of support to the UP Section of IEEE. IEEE UP Section has witnessed remarkable growth despite the Pandemic and many awards and recognition have been bestowed upon the UP Section. New initiatives such as “Graduate Talk”, “Industrial Internship Programme” and “Star of the Programme” have been introduced to encourage young talent and various mega events are also being organized by the IEEE UP Section.”  

Highlighting the significance of the conference, Mr. Manos M. Tentzeris, Ken Byers Professor in Flexible Electronics, IEEE Fellow, DML-E and CRFID Distinguished Lecturer, School of ECE, Georgia Tech, USA, stated, “The conference aims to highlight the breakthroughs and contributions in the field of technological research and innovation, worldwide by providing a platform for Industry and Academia for sharing advancements in Research and Development in emerging areas of Mobile and Embedded Technologies. Together, we can further make unprecedented technological development through joint synergies and collaboration in developing smart cities, smart agriculture and in other groundbreaking areas.” 

Expressing extreme pleasure on this occasion, Dr. Ashok Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group, said, “The area of Mobile Embedded Technologies is very important for India’s economic development. India has immense brain power and we, at Amity, believe in the “Synergy of Brains”, “Mission of Connect” and “Mission of Outcome” and focus on “Success by Compulsion”. Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, mentioned, “MECON 2022 aims to provide a forum for researchers, academics and industrialist to address and network on a range of emerging trends, innovations, research, and latest developments in the field of Mobile, Embedded Computing & Communication Systems. The Conference will enable us to collaborate with other scientists of the world and reinforce our focus on research and innovation. We must look at a symbiotic, synergetic and mutually beneficial relationship in the field of science and technology by encouraging innovative ideas and solutions to technological problems.” 

During the two-day conference, Honorary Professorship by Amity University was conferred upon, Prof. Ashok Agrawala, University of Maryland, USA, Prof. Manos M. Tentzeris, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, Prof. Timothy O Farrell, University of Sheffield, UK , Dr. Anthony Ghiotto, Bordeaux Institute of Technology, France and Prof. Giulio Antonini, University of L'Aquila, Italy. More than 350 Research Papers were presented by the researchers and scholars of Amity University and Technical Sessions on different topics including, “ A Novel Learning Automaton-Based Controller Placement Scheme for Software-Defined Network Systems”, “Artificial Intelligence: Changing the landscape we live today”, “Deep Learning Acceleration Techniques for Embedded and Mobile Visual Applications”, “Information Dynamics - Integrating information and systems” and “Novel Wireless Sensor Network Protocols” , were held, amongst others.
