During the Inaugural Ceremony, keynote speaker, Dr. Sunil Shukla, DG, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, said, “Entrepreneurship is all pervasive today and the kind of awareness about Entrepreneurship that has been created during the last 5-6 years ever since our current government came into power has been phenomenal. With the Prime Minister’s vision of “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat” which focusses on Entrepreneurship, start-ups have gained momentum and almost 43-44 start ups last year have become Unicorns. Before the pandemic, there were less number of start-ups but today we have about 80 plus Unicorns and very soon will be able to achieve about 100 Unicorns. Last year, we have been able to mobilize 92 billion dollars funding support and investment which is a huge achievement. I’m glad to see that Amity is prioritizing and encouraging Entrepreneurship by taking many steps in this direction. It is not only teaching Entrepreneurship but practicing entrepreneurship too.”

Speaking about Entrepreneurship, he further added, “Entrepreneurship is not just a career vocation, it is a state of mind. If one possesses entrepreneurial virtues, it will help them in excelling in any career which they may want to pursue. He appreciated the efforts of Central Government, State Governments, multi-lateral organizations and institutions like Amity who are prioritizing and emphasizing on entrepreneurship. In these ambiguous, volatile and complex times of the COVID 19 Pandemic, it is heartening to see start-ups emerging rapidly which is contributing immensely to the economic development of our country averred Dr Shukla .”

Sharing his views on this occasion, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University, said, “It is the dream of our Honorable Founder President Sir to see Amity students becoming highly successful entrepreneurs and face the world with great confidence, courage and pride as we prepare them for all the challenges which they may face in their careers. We have always maintained that youngsters need to have the inspiration and motivation from their role models.” Advising the students on Entrepreneurship, he further stated, “An entrepreneur must treat their customers as the king and should provide the best products or services to them. Another trait of being a great entrepreneur is to treat your employees as your own family which is what Amity, as an institution, follows diligently.”

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University said , “The world is in the grip of devastating Covid-19 pandemic which, on one hand, has been a major problem globally, while on the other hand it has led to resilient Entrepreneurship, Disruptive Innovations and Agile Leadership Practices across the Globe.
