Then she shared five mega trends and talked about four important attributes which people need to focus on transition from campus to corporate.
Then she shared the ppt titled “what is it that you need to do to secure your future”. She said if you look at the way to the education system it is built in such a way that it will make you economically independent and the intent is solely to make each one of you agents of our egalitarian society and tomorrow when we look at you, you will be responsible for transforming this new age order. She said she has no doubt that students are all outstanding in their studies but that’s because they are in soft hands of their parents and teachers. But reality is a bit harsh, what waits for you outside that gate of this university is the harsh real world. The degree that each one of us have is our entry ticket to the corporate which is good but there are zillions of other life skills you need to possess to survive sustain and succeed. The first skill she highlighted was ‘Critical Thinking’, how can we hold and develop that communication. It helps to have effective communication which is very important interpersonal skill. Only if you are able to focus on these new areas you will be able to enhance your employee bullet and shape your future. People who are able to mold themselves are more successful. She advised the students that if they can shape, if they can work on their personality and attitude, these two distinctive features what can make them stand out.
She has given example of “the book of world” and Covid-19 how this pandemic has changed the way we lived, right change the way things used to be done, there are so many things like these which are not in our control has always happened and will continue to happen. Humankind has survived, life will go on…! What happens is that there is a shift in dynamics of work and also the way of behaviour changes. She opined that the shelf life of every skill that we learn is not more than two to five years. Because of tremendous use of technology, most of the information is available in just one click. So, future of work is totally getting redefined like it was never before and lives will constantly evolve and only those who are able to mold themselves with time will survive. So, the mantra is very simple keep learning and keep going.
Then she shared the 5 mega trends:
1. Learn to manage your Emotions
2. Building Cognitive Flexibility
3. Love Yourself
4. Being Mobile
5. Go beyond your Comfort Zone
In the end, she said that failures are a part of life, accept failures, learn from them and become wiser. Freshers have a lot of energy, their skills and will are also very high, have to keep your momentum high. She also pointed out 3 Ss; Survive, Sustain & Succeed, three mantras for growth and maturity. She thanked everybody for the inviting her.

She clearly conveyed the message that if you have the capacity in you, if you have the ability in you there is nobody not even God who would want to take away what is due to you. She said it is critically important for everyone to understand their strengths and work on them. Failures are your best teachers. Identify your niche. If you want to flourish, give something more to it. There is no end to learning, keep learning & updating yourself. She also quoted Mahatma Gandhi’s words that one’s strength does not come from physical capacity it comes from an indomitable will. Then she talked about the reason that why we want to build capacity, how we build our capacity, what are the challenges of capacity building and all of this in the context of law students. Ms. Shweta said that students should follow five steps as lawyers at the beginning of their careers must do. Which are as follows:
1. Do Self-assessment: understand yourself, assess your capacity, do a SWAT (Strength Weakness Assessment Threat) analysis.
2. Second step is once we have understood the gaps and deficiencies, to train ourselves to fill up the gaps.
3. Third step is aligning the surrounding the environment that we live in. Assess the opportunities, choose the best.
4. Fourth element is we do it as a part of our personality development, viz, emotionally, socially, physically and mentally. Let's put it all of this into our profession and let's analyze.
5. Next step is to be persistent towards your goals and commitments, pushing your limits and challenging yourselves continuously.
At the end of her talk she emphasized that change is important and she said that nothing can transformed in our lives until the mind is transformed. Love yourselves. Develop your networking skills, interact with people who inspire you. Be limitless and that’s how you will develop your personality/capacity.

Technical Session 2 - Professional Career Skills
The second Technical Session included an address and presentation by Ms. Diana Philip, Senior Advisor, Government Relations & Public Policy, Dell Technologies. She talked about exploring horizons particularly for law students after their under-graduate course. What are the skills required for the same? She focused on what it takes to be a good lawyer. There are certain skills, viz., Drafting, Communication, Public Speaking, Written Skills, Management Skills, Networking Skills etc. which are required to be the best lawyer in this filed. She also focused on what to hold on and how to develop yourself. The person has to assess how adaptable he/she is. Along with the professional skills, knowledge/command over your law subjects matters a lot. Also your ability to connect with people from different fields counts. You have to assess yourself for what you are suitable, how to prepare for the same. Tenacity to take the risk is important. Lots of hard work is required to be put in. She advised the students to breathe, relax, enjoy your work, then only they can give in a lot more.
She also talked about her experiences while working with the European Union; in South Africa working in Rwanda during the Genocide. She said law domain is too vast. Students have to pick and chose wisely. There are many options available to them, eg., pursuing LLM, Judicial Clerkship, Law firms, Corporates, Legal Consultant, NGOs (she worked with UNICEF, HRLN) etc. Then she also sensitized students to focus on their CV building. How do they present themselves to the world, maybe through social media platforms. They should have incredibly solid CV. They should tailor it according to the audience they are sending it to and also be able to answer about whatever is written on their CV. They should be able to introduce themselves in 30 seconds, that’s a win. People looking at your CV should take notice of you. Extra-curricular activities also help a lot, eg., participating in various events, competitions, legal aid camps/clinics at law school. How to project yourself, your adaptability, your framework. When you know what you want, stick to it, question yourself, negotiate your salaries. There will come different challenges regarding culture, language, ideologies but a leader has to overcome all, deal with them all patiently and with critical thinking.
Another address in the second Technical Session was by Dr. Anjali Thapliyal Kaul, Academician, Author & Social Activist; President, Pyare Foundation (NGO). She talked about polishing your skills, preparing yourself for every field. A person should be honest, simple in his working. He/she should know and understand himself/herself deeply. There should be a daily activity chart to identify your skills potential and calibre. Make a career document or a checklist on what all a person wants to achieve in his professional life. This is only the key to be happy and successful. If you are happy then things goes towards hurdle free life.
Technical Session 3 – Digital Literacy & Effective use of Social Media
The third session started with an address by Ms. Smriti Dubey, State Training Manager, Xiaomi India Pvt. Ltd. She said digital literacy and social media are an inseparable and powerful combination. If taken in a positive manner, this combination enhances the quality and efficiency of research, learning, communication, collaboration and creativity. Combining digital literacy and social media also helps educators connect and collaborate with students in an online format most of the former has been using in some fashion – be it via Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Google+, or another platform – for years now. Whether they are connecting with friends and family, gathering news and information, or posting photos and videos, today's youth continues to swarm to social media in droves.
By harnessing some of that activity and using it in the classroom, educators can save time, increase student engagement, and teach in a more efficient manner, said Ward. An added bonus is that digital literacy and social media can be delivered with technology that is open and free online – making the pairing particularly cost effective during an era where every penny counts. For the intersection of social media and digital literacy to have the most impact, educators can't assume that students will embrace the idea because it's cool, digital, and involves their mobile phones. Students want to talk to their friends on social media sites but they don't necessarily want that exercise to be work-related. She said colleges leveraging social media to improve digital literacy must focus on students' current use of social media and then find ways to interface those activities with the curriculum.
The second address of the session was by Mr. Kumar Amlendu, Graphic Designer, Web Developer, Art Cozy. Due to technical issues, he was unable to take the session.
