Experts put forward views on 'Innovation in Visual Art' at Amity University
Amity School of Fine Arts organized an International Conference on 'Innovation in Visual Art' to sensitize students about the progress, innovation, new practices in the field of visual art. Prof. John Jicha of the School of Art and Design, University of Versten Carolina, USA, Ms. Isha Guha, Senior Vice President, Concept Communication Limited, New Delhi, Shri Indrapramit Roy, Head, Petting Department, Faculty of Fine Art, The M.S. University, Baroda, Dr. Pradosh K. Mishra, Head, Department of History of Art and Tourism Management, BHU, Shri Sanjay Tiwari, CEO, JUXT Consultant and Shri Jai Prakash Tripathi, Chief Art Director, National Sahara expressed their views during the conference. Ms Divya Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity School of Fine Art and Amity School of Fashion Technology and Dr Pradeep Joshi, Director General, Amity School of Fine Art welcomed the guests on the occasion.
Prof. John Jicha of the School of Art and Design, University of Versten Carolina, USA, shared the interdisciplinary experiences and said, “What art modifies is not a tangent to artistic product.” He gave detailed information on four projects, Chu on It, April Greiman, Victory Over Sun and Workingman Collective in the run up to innovation in visual art.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Isha Guha, Senior Vice President, Concept Communication Limited, New Delhi, stated, “Nothing changes rapidly in the communication industry. The creation you have created should be based on your experience, travel, or experience of someone else. Find different solutions to different problems of different things. Currently everything is part of the digital world so understand the use of your digital space and the use of traditional space. Take the interdisciplinary concept to the level of thought, the level of research. The creative person has to always be seen on a large scale.” Ms. Guha also said, “Apart from design, we have to understand trade, etc., today no one can work in the background, we have to take a market view. You should be aware of the entire business for any kind of work in this business age.”
Ms. Divya Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity School of Fine Arts and Amity School of Fashion Technology, averred, “At present, in every sector innovation is being given priority and the conference has been organized to create an awareness amongst students of Fine Arts about the innovation and progress being made in the field. The information given by the experts has benefitted all of us.”
Addressing the students, Shri Indrapramit Roy, Head, Petting Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, The M.S. University, Baroda, mentioned, “In this age of change, there is a change in the daily unveiling and this change has also affected creativity. Visibility is a visual experience of nature. Students should adopt changing visual reality and understand new style, new types, creativity and innovation. Innovation is essential for continuous improvement, there are many arts and artists according to capacity and innovation does not remain in technology or medium.”
Dr. Pradosh K Mishra, Head, Department of History of Art and Tourism Management, BHU, emphasized, “We, as artists, do something new whether compulsorily or occasionally. Sometimes you have many options. There is a lot of technology support available at present.” He gave lectures on creative practice, community and classroom teaching.
Shri Sanjay Tiwari, CEO, JUXT Consultant, while sharing his views said, “Creative ideology is linked to multidisciplinary approach. Creative thoughts are not just about thinking out of the box, but also inside the box, on the other side. Implementation of constructive ideas is essential.”
Shri Jai Prakash Tripathi, Chief Art Director, National Sahara, stated, “Art is an idea, just as there are many colours and voices in nature, we can hear and act accordingly by looking at certain colors or sounds.” He called upon the students to promote creativity in their art in visual art and use technology.
During the conference, papers were presented on the subjects such as "Depiction of Indian Tribal and Folk Art Forms in Communication Design to effectively tell the story ", "Historical Overview of Art Collection and Period in Hyderabad", "Folk and Tribal Art of India" "Development of Indian Graphic Novels".
