4th Technology Conference, “INFINITY 2021” held at Amity
Amity Business School organised the 4th Technology Conference, “INFINITY 2021” on the theme “Digital Transformation, Information Security and Risk Management for Business Continuity during and post Covid-19 Pandemic”.
Chief Guest on the occasion, Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Rajesh Pant, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd.), National Cyber Security Coordinator, National Security Council Secretariat, Government of India mentioned that during pandemic internet had become an essential service for everyone and there were Global inconsistencies in internet availability, unexpected fluctuations and cybercrime which became some of the biggest challenges associated with internet. It is now important for companies and people to be aware towards ransom ware attack since cases are increasing due to weaker controls on home IT. Dr. Pant suggested to take regular full system backups, cyber audit to save oneself from cyber-attacks. Employees working from home should separate personal and corporate devices. These concerns should be taken seriously by the company as well as employees.
Mr. Abhishek Singh, IAS, President & CEO, National e-Governance Division (NeGD) said the coronavirus pandemic has created new challenges for business as they adopt to work from home which has become the new normal. Companies are accelerating their digital transformation and cyber security is now a major concern. The culture of work from home is followed by every country with no boundaries. Every employee, students, teachers, parents, healthcare workers etc are moving towards digital usage. The word digital is associated with crime also and even hackers are working hard to beat our security systems. A cyber-attack can cause major damage to business, it can affect business reputation and erode the trust the customer has. Companies should adopt certain practices by creating awareness regarding this serious issue. Mr. Singh stated that National e-Governance Division have built various tools for saving data. Many IT rules are notified for the sake of safety so that citizen can use internet with safety and without any fear.
Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University said that impact of covid vary from sector to sector, region to region but it has affected every single person across the globe. During the lockdown people were stuck at home and their priority was healthcare before work. Technology has helped us to improve our lives and makes things easier, however there are two sides to everything. AI will grow further but with both negative as well as positive impact. Cybercrime is increasing and there is a need to keep check on this. At Amity we try to aware students reading this issue of cyber security through various seminar, conferences, averred Dr. Shukla.
