“Global Business Strategies for Sustainability- GLOBUSS 2021”

 To familiarize the budding professionals regarding the importance of Sustainable Development, Amity School of Business organized a two day International Conference on “Global Business Strategies for Sustainability- GLOBUSS 2021” on the theme "Managing Business in the time of Crisis" at Amity University, Sector 125, Noida.

 

The aim of the conference was to provide a platform to Students, Academicians, Researchers, Industry Experts and Research Scholars to exchange knowledge, ideas and issues related to sustainable development in the area of Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Operations and Cross Functional areas for Business excellence globally.

 

Inaugurating the conference, Chief Guest, Prof. Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE said, this conference on sustainability and global trade is relevant in the current times of Covid. Due to pandemic, every sector including business and education is highly affected but with time everything will overcome. He called upon institutions to adopt the principle of ‘people first’ and said, organization should take care of the people working there and give special attention to customers also. During the pandemic, there were lack of resources therefore production was affected and time management also became a big challenge, therefore, it is important to communicate with your customers as well as employees. Prof. Sahasrabudhe cited the example of TISCO located in Jamshedpur and said the mutual efforts of employees and management saved the company in closing down many years ago, where employees offered to take a pay cut rather than the company having to sell their ancestor property. Dr. Sahasrabuddhe added that the institutions that bring laurels to the international level always think ahead of many centuries. Sustainability comes from value system which starts from the very first day when the employee joins the institution, and employees should also realize the DNA of the company, to adapt the same. Sharing his views on how to manage the crises, he said companies should not compromise on quality of excellence, and work towards sustainable development of environment so that future generations live in better conditions.

 

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, AUUP said that Prof. Sahasrabudhe has built a culture in AICTE with people and has always inspired, motivated and transformed the organization with good governance. At Amity, our youth graduate with professional knowledge and dedicates their knowledge to give back to society. We ignite quest for innovation amongst our scientists so that they get motivated.  This culture of innovation amongst the students help organizations grow. Amity’s commitment to Science and Technology and Industry is to provide industry ready students, so that students became go getters from day one. Thanking and appreciating the hard work of elder generations, he advised students to take mutual responsibility to change the world and make it a better place to live.

 

Mr. Anurag Batra, Chairman, Business World Group lauded the contribution of Amity during the pandemic and remarked that Amity has looked after its students, employees and staff which has helped organization to grow.

 

Ms. Charulata Ravi Kumar, MD, Accenture called upon industry and academia to come together so that students future shape well by embracing new fields. Sharing her views, on post pandemic affects she said that industries have learnt a lot by adopting new technologies, new patterns in working conditions and new form of education, which has become new normal. To deal with crises she called upon organizations to look for early warning signals, be prepared by creating systems and acquire self-leadership in order to inspire and take teams along. 

 

Dr Jai Kishore Sharma, Head of Institute, Amity School of Business highlighted the efforts taken by the Amity University to successfully arrange the online classes and other academic activities during the Pandemic.
