Certificate Course on “Intellectual Property Rights: Tool For Innovators & Entrepreneurs” organised by Amity Law School , Noida
AMITY LAW SCHOOL, AMITY UNIVERSITY UTTAR PRADESH organised a 9 Day Certificate Course on “Intellectual Property Rights: Tool For Innovators & Entrepreneurs” for Law Students across the Country from 17th June to 25th June 2021 in online mode.
The programme has been organised as a value-added course to offer industry interfaces of IPR and prepare the budding law students for various career opportunities in IPR.
More than 450 students registered for the Course from all over India, with over 250 students s from other Universities across India including students from various NLU’s, Delhi University, IP University, Central and State Universities. The certificate course comprises of continuous evaluation in the form of Assessment Quiz.
30 distinguished speakers and expertise from Industry, Academia and various Government Organizations are going to contribute as resource persons.
The Inaugural session was attended by group of dignitaries from Amity University, Prof. Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University , Prof. (Dr) D. K. Bandyopadhyay Chairman of the Amity Law School, Prof. (Dr) Shefali Raizada Additional Joined HOI, Amity Law School and Prof. (Dr) Aditya Tomar Additional Joined HOI, Amity Law School.
Dr. Gouri V. Naik, Faculty coordinator of the event welcomed all the participants and she mentioned about the significance of the course for the students and participants.
Prof. (Dr) Shefali Raizada described the importance of IP law in the global changing scenario and its impact on enhancement of the knowledge in this field.
Prof. (Dr) Aditya Tomar welcomed all the participants and briefed about the importance of the course and the benefit of the course for the participants.
Prof. (Dr) D. K. Bandyopadhyay in his address briefed about the background of providing value-added courses in Amity University and the aim of enhancing the knowledge of the students. He mentioned about the importance of IPR knowledge for everyone. He congratulated the coordinators of the course and motivated everyone to actively participate in the course to get benefited.
Delivering his address, Prof Ganesh Hingmire Founder GMGC, Renowned IP activist, explained about the importance of the IP in the current world, why it should be protected and what are the emerging areas under the field of IPR. He also talked about the importance of patenting and acknowledged the contribution of Amity University in patent filing and applications and concluded by saying that IP is essential for Nation building and development.
During the nine day programme sessions will be held on Registration of Various IP Rights, Patent Drafting, Trademark registration, Principles and Practical aspects of counterfeiting and brand Protection, Plant Breeders’ Rights, PR divide between Developed and Developing nations and Geographical Indications, Traditional knowledge & IPR Vis A Vis Concerns Related to Biopiracy &Benefit Sharing, Issues Around Biotechnology Patents, Success Story: IPR in Pharma, GI movement in India, Issues Around Biotechnology Patents followed by Dr. Kanan Divetia from Symbiosys Law School, Noida and Adv. Vanshika Kumar, IP Lawyer Delhi High Court who talked about various nuances of IPR and Copyright Law.
