Workshop on Animation organized at Amity University

A workshop on Animation was organized virtually by Amity Directorate of Applied Arts / Fine Arts /Performing Arts / Visual Arts, AUUP wherein lectures was delivered by Mr Ashish Kulkarni, Chairman, FICCI, Animation & Gaming and Mr. Prateek Sethi, Creative Director,Trip Creative Services. The workshop was part of AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Program for Faculty Development.
Addressing the participants, Ms. Divya Chauhan, Chairperson ASFT, ASFA, ASPA said that the pandemic has taught us to live in any kind of circumstances. She stated that animation is the future and asked students to learn the nuances of the field from the experts in the workshop.
Mr Ashish Kulkarni, Chairman, FICCI, Animation & Gaming elaborated on the topic and said that constant connect of industry and academia can bring refinement in curriculums. The engagement leads to getting the right kind of placements to students as well as looking at how one can keep the dynamics of evolving technologies and blend of creativity together. He further added that faculty is the most important pillar of our industry as experience of working on shows and in the studio always help the students to be taught in a better way. Technology is redefining itself in every nine months which is a big challenge. It is important to have right balance between creativity and technology. He suggested students to spend time in understanding and lay more emphasis on learning creative skills rather than be over dependence on technology.
Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University welcomed the guests and stated that creativity is going to be most important, future skill for every education field. Animation is an important component of creativity and it’s necessary for the faculty that they continuously up-skill themselves for teaching, learning, curriculum design and development for supporting the students.
Mr. Prateek Sethi, Creative Director, Trip Creative Services while addressing the students said that their foundation should be excellent and they must work hard to get the right skills. Technology is an enabler and we should not forget this. Story telling can be broken down in simplicity, which is part of visual communication design, wherein animation design holds a key part.
