A webinar on ‘Technological Advancements – Perspective of Engineering and Management in Future’ was conducted by Mr. Anand Venkitachalam, Vice President, Western Digital Corporation, a leading Data Infrastructure Company with over 14K active patents and 65K employees worldwide. His organization provides solutions to capture, preserve, access and transform data. He stated that Data that is all around us is the Engine of the Global Economy and how there is enabling of rapid growth in the Volume, velocity and value of data. He further averred that data creation is growing exponentially with the Zettabyte Age having more than 102ZB+ Data to be created in 2023 being produced by both humans and the machines. There is dizzying diversity of Data including Big Data having problems of Scale on one hand and the other hand has Fast Data that requires instant decisions to be taken. He further stated that the data landscape is evolving and for data to move seamlessly between core and endpoints, edge devices would be required that would need novel components. Also, by enabling scaling, huge capacity of data has been unleashed.
He added that there is a need to invest in oneself to develop leadership skills and suggested doing certain things to be done on a weekly basis to stay energized. He suggested doing regular exercises to maintain the body; Do pranayam or breathing exercises to focus on the Breath and take out time for meditation for a healthy and chaos free mind.
