Digital Marketing: An overview
A webinar on "Digital Marketing: An overview" was conducted by Mr. Krishnkant Chaturvedi - CEO - Innopreneurs at Lemon Idea, Co-founder at Workshopopedia. The interactive session had students responding to various queries posed by Mr. Chaturvedi in a marathon hour long session, part one of the series that also discussed 5 real life case studies. The session began with the foundation and basics of digital marketing. He asked students about their goal of the day and the learning outcome in their mind from the session and detailed about sales, marketing and digital marketing on the basis of outs by students. He discussed a case study about Parker Pen Vs a Use & Throw Pen talking about the difference between sales & marketing. Mr. Chaturvedi averred that branded pens like Parker are most often sold during special days like Father’s day and talked at length about traditional ways of marketing and digital marketing. He stated that marketing involves identifying the target audience and then making the pitch while sales involves directly selling to the consumer. He further detailed about digital marketing using various channels using search engines; social media; video; e-mail and display. He also stated the three types of channels including Earned comprising of articles through public relations, Social media mentions & testimonials; Owned Channel including newsletters sent across the e-mail list, social media handles & Blogs and Paid channels including SEM Ads, Adwords & SMM. Business Strategy was also discussed with students focusing on having a defined mission statement.
