Various Events : Amity Youth Forum 2020

 

Amity Youth Forum 2020 saw participation of thousands of students across India and globe in the Online fest. With competitions includinBeat Phile  - Beatboxing Solo where students showcased their skills by performing vocal percussion that primarily involved the art of mimicking drums and other instrument using their lips, mouth, nose and hands. There were six live performances of one-minute each in the competition that had Ketan Maheshwari, Student of Amity University Noida emerge as the winner. Second position was bagged by Harsh Soni from Amity University, Ranchi.

The competition was judged by well-known musician Mr Aditya Pratap Singh who congratulated the participants and advised them never to copy the music or sound. He was very impressed with all the performances given by students. 
 
Further during the day, Amity Institute of Social Sciences organized a Debate Competition. The Name of the Debate Competition was Battle of Words in which 40 participants competed from across the country and debated on the topics 'China is in the making of a New World order' and 'India is succeeding in it's battle against COVID19 despite it's underdeveloped health care system'. 11 Finalist reached to the final round. 

Verse-Worth: An Online Slam Poetry Competition, a poetry competition was also organized that received 67 registrations, 48 coming online. Out of these 48, 22 students were selected for Live poem recitation. Rishita Chawla from Deshbandhu college (DU) won this competition for her poem 'Curse of Uterus'. All the participants and judges enjoyed  a lot during this poetry program. Students from other universities like Gautam Buddha University, Bennett University, English and Foreign Language University Lucknow, Doon University, Bharati Vidyapeeth's College Of Engineering, IIT Roorkee etc participated in this competition. Vocal Artist Mr. Surjan Singh and Charu Chitra from Gwalior University were the judges of the competition. Judges lauded the efforts of the students and shared how despite the present pandemic scenario students are engaged into such a creative and innovation Forum. They averrred how even students from remote areas can participate in this forum due to the online fest.

Another online creative engagement was organized called Swarmala where students were asked to sing the non filmy songs. There were 52 participants out of which 12 were selected for the finals. The competition was judged by Mr. Assem Jindal, Chairman, SURSHREE and Mr. Sanjeev Sachdeva, well-known Accordion player and Music Arranger. Student-Agnidhara of IIT Madras stood first , Saurabh Rajkumar from SRTM University stood 2nd and 3rd was Nimi Mariam from Amity University Dubai.
