Trends and Global opportunities in Computer science and Engineering

Department of Computer Science & Engg., Amity School Of Engineering & Technology, Amity University, Noida organized an Interactive Career Guidance Webinar on “Trends & Global Opportunities in Computer Science & Engineering “ on 30th April, 2020 from 2:30-3:30. The panelists were Prof. Dr. Abhay Bansal, Joint Head, ASET, Director, DICET, and HOD, CSE; Industrial guest Mr. Neeraj Sirohi, Associate Director & head, Sopra Steria; and Alumni guest Mr, Piyush Arora, Microsoft, USA. This was a unique platform where representative from Academia, Industry and alumni came together to guide and interact with future admission aspirants and Engineering enthusiasts. It envisaged interaction of admission aspirants with the academic fraternity, Alumni, and Industrial Expert. The Webinar was conducted through Cisco Webex Software successfully. It was joined by over 490+ engineering aspirants, enthusiasts and faculty members. The session started with Prof. Dr. Bansal’s address where he seamlessly introduced the audience about Amity School of Engg. & Technology, informed about various programs offered and career options in Engineering. The choice based credit system, non teaching credit courses, value added courses and outdoor activities bases courses were told about. Dr. Bansal gave a glimpse of the abundant placement opportunities for engineering graduates. Mr. Neeraj Sirohi from Sopra Steria gave his valuable inputs at this moment and told that what industry is looking for, in the freshers and how Amity’s program’s give these young aspirants that cutting edge. Mr. Piyush Arora addressed the webinar from Seattle, where he is currently located. As a UX Designer with Microsoft, he explained how the semester exchange program through Amity helped him get a fully funded MS in Purdue University, USA. He is currently also pursuing his second Masters from Harvard University and talked about that. The panelists were inundated with questions by young enthusiasts during the Q&A session towards the end.
