National Conference on ‘Recent Advances in Questioned Document Examinations’

Amity Institute of Behavioural Health and Allied Sciences (AIBHAS) in collaboration with Directorate of Forensic Sciences, Ministry of Home Affairs, organized a National Conference on ‘Recent Advances in Questioned Document Examinations’.

The conference was attended by Mr. Ramesh Chander, Regional Director- Reserve Bank of India, Dr. V. N. Sehgal, former Director- Central Bureau of Investigation, Dr. M.S. Rao, Director & Chief Forensic Science- Ministry of Home Affairs. The session was chaired by Dr. Ashok Chauhan – Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF). Addressing the august gathering of research scholars, working and retired forensic professionals, officials of government organizations and students from various parts of the country, Dr. Ashok Chauhan commented, “My vision is to train and groom young students taking this course to build innovative scientists, who can contribute and assist the law enforcement agencies in delivering justice and apprehending the culprits indulging in criminal activities.”

Delivering the key note address, Mr. Ramesh Chander said, “The current economic trends and globalization has spawned many types of financial crimes. It may be in the form of stealing drafts and cheques, opening fictitious accounts, tampering with credit cards to name a few. It is therefore, important for officials to be trained in regulating and supervising the banking system, which has a twofold approach to tackle bank frauds, namely preventive approach to minimize the number of incidents and prohibitive of financial fraud.”

The conference attracted participants of forensic science, documentation, finger printing etc from all over the country and was successful in widening the knowledge of the public, by teaching them basics of the forensic techniques so that they themselves can detect fraudulent activities.
