Amity University organizes the 4th International Conference on Information Technology(InCITe-2024) on the theme “Adaptive Intelligence: Evolve your World”

 

Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh organized the 4th International Conference on Information Technology (InCITe-2024) on the theme “Adaptive Intelligence: Evolve your World”, from 6th-7th March 2023. Adaptive Intelligence represents a cutting-edge paradigm in technology that blends Artificial Intelligence with dynamic responsiveness. The international conference was supported by Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science & Technology and attended by distinguished scientists, renowned academicians, and leading industry experts from across the globe. 

 

During the two-day conference, an MoU between Amity University Uttar Pradesh and the University of Pretoria, South Africa was signed, which was aimed at paving the way for collaborative research, faculty and student exchange programs between the two esteemed institutions and fostering cross-pollination of ideas, by opening new avenues for innovation in the field of information technology.

Speaking during the Inaugural Session, Dr. Seán McLoone, Director, Centre for Intelligent and Autonomous Manufacturing Systems, Queen's University Belfast, UK, said, “Today, we are facing many challenges locally and globally including natural disasters and climate change, we need to deliberate upon what we can do to address these challenges. AI is evolving rapidly and we need different technologies to adapt to the changing world.”

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Dhurai Ganesan, the Vice President of Automation Engineering & Services at NTT Data Services, stated, “AI is rapidly transforming the way organizations are functioning today. The most significant thing is to ensure the security of data, and technology is about how we learn and adapt to the changing scenario and requirements.”

Guest of Honour, Dr. (Smt.) N. Ranjana, Scientist 'H' and Director of the Directorate of Futuristic Technology Management at DRDO, opined, “The human mind must evolve and adapt to the changing scenarios. AI will change the way we think and work and it will help in the betterment of mankind. She further added that we need to ensure that we adopt responsible AI, and ethical deliberations. “Speed is the key to adopting new technologies and passion is required to drive the change.” said Dr. Ranjana.

On this occasion, Dr. Christian Blum, Senior Research Scientist, Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, Spanish National Research Council, Spain was bestowed the Honorary Professorship by Amity University. 

Mr. Ganesh Sahai, Chief Technology officer of Nagarro, Mr. Ankit Bose, Head Nasscom ai and Mr. Mohammad Asif, Senior Vice President, TSYS shared the latest innovations in the area of Artificial Intelligence being adopted by the industry during the conference. 

Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh mentioned that discipline of Information Technology is expanding at a breath-taking pace and to keep up with this dynamically advancing field, we have to continuously evolve. 

Prof.(Dr.) W. Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology & Innovation Foundation mentioned that the various sessions of the conference on recent cutting-edge technologies will provide the best learning experience to the students who are the future of our country. 

Dr. Manoj Kumar Pandey, Director, Amity School of Engineering & Technology said, “InCITe-2024 intends to bring together professionals, academicians, andustry experts, researchers and enthusiasts to discuss various emerging trends and innovations, share research results and new directions in the field of next generation technologies. This technical Conference aims to provide a platform for Industry and Academia for sharing advancements in Research and Development in upcoming areas of Adaptive Intelligence.”

Schuller, Professor, Imperial College London, UK, Dr. Roger Dannenberg, Emeritus Professor, Computer Science, Art & Music, Carnegie Mellon University, USA,  Dr. Jan Treur, Professor Emeritus, Vrije University, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Dr. Jean-Paul Van Belle, Professor, University of Cape Town, South Africa, Dr. Marita Turpin, University of Pretoria, South Africa, Dr. Keeley A Crockett, Professor, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, Dr. Zhongfei Zhang, Professor Binghamton University, USA and many other distinguished academicians from across the globe delivered insightful talks on adaptive intelligence during the conference. 

Prof. (Dr.) Nitasha Hasteer, Dy. Director & Head of Information Technology Department, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, welcomed all the guests and emphasized that Adaptive AI is a strategic technology trend that organisations should adopt to remain at the front of the technology disruption curve. 

In addition, a women leadership forum “She Speaks Power: Innovative Journey of Women Leaders” was also held during the conference to celebrate the women achievers, chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh. The esteemed panellists included Dr. (Smt.) N. Ranjana, Scientist 'H' and Director of the Directorate of Futuristic Technology Management, DRDO,  Ms. Rachna Bhanot, Chief of Staff, Office of Managing Director, IBM India, Dr. Arvinder Kaur, Dean, University School of Automation & Robotics,  Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Ms. Swati Meherishi, Editorial Director, Springer Nature and Ms. Priyanka Bisht from Nasscom.
