Towards this Amity Centre for Guidance and Counselling (ACGC) has been established on campus for providing excellent student-oriented services to assist them in shaping their career besides enabling them to effectively cope with their day-to-day concerns in a constructive manner. The mission of the Amity Centre for Guidance and Counselling (ACGC) led by Head Consortium ACGC Prof. (Dr) Harminder Kaur Gujral and professionally qualified counselling psychologists, is to support students' intellectual, emotional, and social growth to improve their overall wellbeing. The services offered by ACGC are intended to support students' social, intellectual, and personal development. The role of ACGC is to ensure personal, psychological, and social well-being of students. They can meet professional counselling psychologists to discuss their personal concerns and issues during office hours from Monday-Saturday. ACGC has a 24x7 toll free number also where students can call and speak with the counselling psychologists. The students are encouraged to use ACGC services for their happiness and wellbeing.

To provide a comprehensive, developmental counselling programme that addresses the academic, personal, social and emotional needs of students to make them mentally strong as overall well-being of students is of utmost importance.

MISSION


Help support, guide and assist students to develop life skills to cope up with challenges and enhance their personality by making them not just excellent professionals but also good human beings with understanding and regard for human values.

    24X7 tollfree online counselling service by ACGC

    Since ACGC is opened for students, six days a week until 6pm, the round the clock 24*7 on call/online counselling services are available for students. This is a crisis intervention service where students are provided with adequate help, support and guidance to manage their immediate concerns. The availability of round the clock counselling service specifically to students who are away from their parents and during examinations provides a much-needed support to students. Toll free number is operational 24*7 during the year.

    Special Guidance teams (SGT) for hostel visits  

    Apart from counselling services as a support system for students, Special Guidance Team of faculty members go to visit hostels on weekly basis. As students tend to get stressed and feel anxious during examinations in the absence of parental support, the frequency of visits is increased, and these teams visit hostels daily. It has been taken as a welcoming step by students as it is helping them cope with exam stress and anxiety.

    1. De-Stress Fest was organized three times for the students on 31.08.2018, 11.09.2018 and 09.10.2018. to create awareness about ACGC
    2. Workshop on Exam anxiety and Time Management was held for the student on 01.11.2018.
    3. Workshop on Exam anxiety and Time Management was organized three times during the exam time for the students on 09.04.2019, 10.04.2019 and 12.04.2019.
    4. Awareness campaigns such as De-Stress Fest was conducted on 29.08.2019.
    5. De-Stress Fest was organized on 23.01.2019 to create awareness about ACGC
    6. Workshop on Relationship Management for the Male and Female students on 13.02.2020 and 18.02.2020.
    7. During COVID time an online Panel discussion on "Reprogram yourself to Develop Mental Resilience during COVID times" was organized for the students on 08.10.2020.
    8. An online Webinar on "Role of Emotional Intelligence in Mental Health and well-being" was conducted for the students on 29.10.2020.
    9. An online Workshop on “Tips to Manage Exam Anxiety" was organized for the students on 18.03.2021.
    10. An online Workshop on "Stress Management, Anxiety, and Panic attacks” organized for the students on 01.04.2021.
    11. A virtual Group session on "Exam Anxiety” organized for the students on 08.04.2021.
    12. A five-day online workshop on “Handling Stress and Anxiety during Pandemic” to provide support to students organized from 03.05.2021- 07.05.2021.
