Amity University inks MoU with Colorado State University, to foster academic collaboration

 A high-level delegation from Colorado State University, led by Dr. Amy Parsons, President, Colorado State University, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus. The delegation comprised of Prof. Kathleen Fairfax, Vice Provost for International Affairs, Prof. Chandra Venkatachalam, Associate Dean for International Programs, WSCOE, Prof. Leo Vijayasarathy, Chair, Information Systems in the College of Business, Prof. Sanjay Rajopadhye, CS Graduate Program Director, Prof. Indrakshi Ray, Professor, Director Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Prof. Stene Verhulst, Director International Enrolment Center, Office of International Programs, Prof. Kevin Nohe, Assistant Director, Strategic and Academic Initiatives, Ms. Melissa Tixeira, South Asia Regional Recruitment Advisor, Office of International Programs and Ms. Rochelle Dantis, South Asia Regional Recruiter, Colorado State University.

On this occasion, an MoU was signed between Amity University and Colorado State University, with the aim to explore the various partnership opportunities in the area of Management, Engineering, Biotechnology, Law, Journalism & Communication and Fine Arts.

 

Highlighting the potential areas of collaboration between Amity University and Colorado State University, USA, Dr. Amy Parsons, President, Colorado State University, averred, “The warmth and hospitability extended to us by Amity University is really admirable and it speaks volumes about the Amity culture. Amity’s achievements in the area of research and innovation are truly remarkable and we are glad to collaborate with such a highly prestigious institution. Student Exchange Programme and Guest Lecture Series will be highly beneficial for both Universities. The collaboration in other areas such as healthcare and cyber security will also add immense value to the pedagogy and curriculum of both institutions.”

 

Presenting an Overview of the Amity Education Group, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, stated, “Some of the specific areas which can be explored to strengthen this relationship include Faculty Exchange Programmes, Student Exchange Programmes, Joint, Articulation Agreements, Twinning and Dual Degrees, having joint campuses and providing internship opportunities to the students. In addition, Joint research, India Immersion Program and Study Abroad Program, are some other ways in which the two Universities can collaborate.”

 

Presenting the Research initiatives of Amity, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation, said that Amity strongly focusses on research and innovation and through this collaboration, it aims to strengthen the S&T ecosystem of both the institutions, thereby contributing to the scientific development of the world.

 

During the visit, the HOIs of Amity University introduced themselves to the distinguished guests and the delegation took a round of the Amity Innovation Incubator, Central Library and Amity School of Communications Studio.
