Amity University inks MoU with University of York, UK to foster academic collaboration

 A high-level delegation from University of York, UK, comprising of Prof. Charlie Jeffery, Vice-Chancellor and President and Mr. Rohit Kumar, Director, International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility (IRPM), External Relations, University of York, UK, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus. On this occasion, an MoU was signed between Amity University and University of York, UK, to foster academic and explore opportunities for student and faculty exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and co-hosting academic conferences and seminars.

 

Highlighting the potential areas of collaboration between Amity University and University of York, UK, Prof. Charlie Jeffery, Vice-Chancellor, and President, University of York, UK, averred, “Amity University has achieved huge milestones within a short span of time since its establishment, which is truly commendable. When it comes to collaboration three things are very important, firstly, academics should contribute to human life significantly and aim to bring a change in the lives of people. Secondly, students must value the opportunities which they get to visit different Universities which provide them with immense learning and exposure and widens their horizons and thirdly, collaboration should focus on producing citizens of the world since collaboration leads to better results and creates a stronger impact by engaging with others. He identified the possible key areas of collaboration such as Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare and Technology since creative industries are important drivers of change.”  

 

Presenting an Overview of the Amity Education Group, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, stated, “We are glad to share that Amity University is already working with University of York, UK for British Council Funded Projects. Apart from this, some of the specific areas which can be explored to strengthen this relationship include offering Joint, Twinning and Dual Degrees to the students, having joint campuses, partnership for offering internships to the students and building consortium of UK and Indian Universities to accept credits of each other. In addition, articulation pathways in Business, entrepreneurship, sustainability digital marketing, Joint research, Projects under UKIERI, Going Global Turing Scheme, India Immersion Program and Study Abroad Program, are some other ways in which the two Universities can collaborate.”

 

On this occasion, the HOIs of Amity University introduced themselves to the distinguished guests and the delegation took a round of the Amity University campus including the Amity Innovation Incubator, Central Library and Amity School of Communication.
