4th Doctoral Research Conclave on the theme “The Power of Cultivating A Research Mindset”, held at Amity

 Amity Business School, Amity University Uttar Pradesh Noida campus, organized the 4th Doctoral Research Conclave on the theme “The Power of Cultivating a Research Mindset” on 5th and 6th January, 2024 in hybrid mode. The conclave aimed to understand and share the art of research among Doctoral Scholars and provide a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing to the Research Scholars and generate ideas for their research endeavours.

 

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Director Amity Business School, said, “Many people are confused by the word “research” and think that it is very tough and complicated. Whereas in reality, it is not so, “Research” is very simple and many instances of research can be seen in our daily lives. Rationale, objective and research methodology are the three key components for carrying out research work on any topic. During this Conclave, distinguished speakers will highlight the substantial domains of research and its application in the real world, and the gamut of research scholars shall reap the learning outcomes through varied discussions and deliberations.”

 

Deliberating upon the theme, “Research by Design: Path to Transformation”, Keynote Speaker, Prof Daniel Ladley, Dean, University of Leicester School of Business & Professor of Finance, averred, “Before doing research, researchers must speak to the experts from the industry pertaining to their topic of research, who can provide useful information and data for their research. Research should have a valuable outcome and positive impact on the society and should help problem-solving and providing solution.”

 

Addressing the young researchers, Chief Guest, Dr. Raj Agrawal, Former Director and Professor All India Management Association, Centre for Management Education, stated, “Research should not be taken very seriously since we see research work being done by not only researchers but the common masses also in their day-to-day life. Whenever, we want to buy something, we do research, similarly, whenever we have to take an important decision, we do research, therefore, research is a part of our lives. However, deep scientific design and creative thinking must be the foundation of your research work in order to arrive at a meaningful conclusion.”

Deliberating upon the topic “How to get Published Papers in High-ranking Journals”, Dr. Sunil Luthra, Director, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), said, “Research can be defined as a systematic and scientific search for relevant information or knowledge on a particular topic. Research must be done joyfully and should not be taken as a burden or a tough and complicated exercise. Selecting a subject, stating the research objectives, preparing a rough bibliography, preparing a work outline, and a rough draft are crucial steps in getting a research work published.”

During the two-day Conclave, Two Plenary Sessions on themes such as “Engineering Research: Passion with Purpose” and “Ethical Research: Maximizing Research Outcomes”, were conducted wherein experts including Dr. Sindhu Bhaskar, Chairman & Founder, EST Group Forbes Council member, Mr. Anirudh Chakraborty, Expert Market Research, Ms. Anita Pratap, Global Talent and Learning COE, McCormick & Company, Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora, Professor & Vice Principal at DAV Institute of Management and Prof Piyush Sharma, Distinguished Professor John Curtin University participated and shared their valuable insights
