Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT) organized a Seminar on the theme of “FASHION INDUSTRY IN INDIA-CHANGING PARADIGMS.” The seminar was organized at I-2 Moot Court, Amity University, Noida and was attended by over 200 students and faculty members.
The Seminar commenced at 10.00 am on Friday the 15th March, 2023 with the Opening Remarks by Professor (Dr.) Pradeep Joshi, Group Additional Pro Vice Chancellor Director General & Dean (Faculty of Applied Arts/ Fine Arts/ Performing Arts/ Visual Arts). He welcomed the invited Senior Industry Persons and briefed them about the ASFT Department, its academic programmes and various activities, including Industry-Academia interactions. He encouraged the students to ask relevant questions, so that they may take full advantage of these sessions by getting a proper industry perspective.
This was followed by the address by Ms. Divya Chauhan, Chairperson, ASFT, ASFA & ASPA where she welcomed the eminent industry experts and motivated the students to use this opportunity to add on to their knowledge levels so that they may be better prepared for their future.
The eminent industry persons at the seminar were Ms. Shifali Singla, VP - Product and SCM, Lacoste India, Mr. Deepak Zutshi, Vice President, Nexus Select Trust, Ms. Sangeeta Dewan, Head of Design, Zoya at Titan Company Limited, Ms. Ankita Agarwal, Senior Manager-Buying (International Brands), ABFRL and Mr. Pankaj Kankar, Founder And Chief Scalemaker, Scalex.Technology & Ex-CTPO, Ajio, Reliance Retail.
Ms. SHIFALI SINGLA, VP - PRODUCT AND SCM, LACOSTE INDIA spoke on the topic of “TRANSCENDING INTERNATIONAL BORDERS-THE LACOSTE STORY” and shared the experiences of Lacoste in India as well as abroad.
This was followed by MR. DEEPAK ZUTSHI, VICE PRESIDENT, NEXUS SELECT TRUST who spoke on the topic of “MALL MANAGEMENT OVER THE AGES-IN INDIA &ABROAD” whereby he shared the nuances of Mall Management with the students.
Ms. SANGEETA DEWAN, HEAD OF DESIGN, ZOYA at TITAN COMPANY LIMITED threw light on the topic of “THE CHANGING FACE OF JEWELLERY DESIGNING-THE ZOYA STORY” thereby sharing the intricacies of Jewelry Designing.
PANKAJ KANKAR, FOUNDER AND CHIEF SCALEMAKER, SCALEX.TECHNOLOGY & Ex-CTPO, AJIO, RELIANCE RETAIL dwell upon the subject of “FROM BRICK & MORTAR TO CLICK & MOUSE-THE INDIAN FASHION JOURNEY.”
Last but not the least, Ms. ANKITA AGARWAL, SENIOR MANAGER-BUYING (INTERNATIONAL BRANDS), ABFRL covered the various aspects of "DESIGNER WEAR MARKET IN INDIA-THE SHANTNU & NIKHIL SAGA."
The students participated by putting up relevant questions to the invited Fashion Industry Professionals and ASFT Alumni.

Mr. Parveen Tyagi, GM-Retail & Distribution, Mother Care, DLF Brands Ltd commenced the Seminar by giving an overview of the Fashion Retail Industry in India. He outlined the specific qualities required by a Fashion Retail professional.
Mr. Dhruv Garg, CEO, Stanmax emphasized the need to be ambitious, dream big and then chase one’s dreams. He quoted the case of Stanmax, his family business, where he is the third generation entrepreneur.
Mr. Prem Narayan Singh, Wet Processing Manager, Gap Inc. mentioned as to how the world has become a small global place, where organizations from different countries interact with each other in a mutually beneficial relationship.
Ms. Vandana Dewan, Accessory Designer underlined the various skills and knowledge levels that should be imbibed by the budding designers of tomorrow in the ever evolving and constantly dynamic competitive environment.
Ms. Yashica Kakkar, Fashion Stylist highlighted the need for creativity in Fashion Styling and how a person can make a mark in this ever evolving field.
Mr. Himanshu Badlia, Marketing-North, Max Retail Division spoke about the developments taking place in India and abroad in the field of Fashion Retail and what the future holds for this industry.
Aamer Zakir, Iranian Celebrity Entrepreneur, Columnist, Fashion Stylist, Make-Over & Grooming Expert enthralled the audience with anecdotes of college life. The address then laid emphasis on the need to listen carefully, observe minutely and participate creatively in order to succeed in the Fashion Industry.
Last but not the least, Prof John Jicha, Professor, School of Art and Design, Western Carolina University (WCU), USA interacted with the students. Supported by his knowledge, acquired by travelling to different countries and wide experience, Mr. Jicha spoke to the students about the need to excel in their chosen fields. He shared with the ASFT students some of the work put up by his students and the audience marvelled at the efforts.
The students of various UG & PG programmes of ASFT attended this seminar, interacted enthusiastically with the industry speakers and gained tremendously from this student-industry interface.

Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT) organized an industry interaction to welcome the students of 2016 batch. As part of this industry interaction, on 8th August, 2016, a galaxy of industry speakers from reputed fashion retail/ brand companies and apparel export organizations, as well as fashion communication & fashion designing experts descended at Amity University to address the new batch of UG & PG students of ASFT on the topic of “Industry Expectations from Young Fashion Professionals.”
In his opening remarks, Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Joshi, Director General, Amity Directorate of Applied Arts, Fine Arts, and Performing Arts & Visual Arts highlighted the importance of Textile & Apparel sector in the Indian economy. He also outlined the growth potential of the Fashion Industry in India and emphasized the need for greater industry-academic partnership thereby asking for continuous support and guidance from the industry.

Further Ms. Mahmood encouraged them to understand thoroughly the process of designing, which starts from an inspiration without which an artist cannot pick up a pen and draw. She briefed that Fashion Industry is a fast growing industry and serious revolutions are possible in this industry. What is trending at a particular point of time may not be so the next day. She highlighted that in order to communicate a design with most impact, a designer has to go beyond boundaries and his imagination has to take a leap. “A Designer should always try to create something unusual but at the same time, ensure that the end product is wearable, “advised Ms. Mahmood. She called upon students to keep their minds open and become like a sponge, continuously absorbing the knowledge and expressing themselves in myriad ways.
Welcoming the distinguished guests, Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Joshi, Director General, Amity Directorate of Applied Arts, Fine Arts, and Performing Arts& Visual Arts shared that in the beginning of every Semester , Amity School of Fashion Designing organizes such Seminars to update students with the industry expectations and the Institute works in close sync with the industry to nurture students who are industry ready. He stressed that post 1990, the Fashion Industry started growing exponentially and now with, world becoming a global village and E-revolution, students are faced with lot of challenges and opportunities, for which they have to be prepared and Industry Interfaces are important step inthis direction.
Dr. Roopak Vasishtha- CEO and Managing Director at Apparel Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council, while addressing the students said that Apparel and Textile Industry is the second largest employment provider in the country after Agriculture, providing direct employment to over 45 million people. Apparel and Textile Industry has huge intake capacity and the industry is thriving for skilled and educated work force. He shared that the domestic textile and apparel industry in India is estimated to reach USD 100 Billion by 2016-17 from USD 67 Billion in 2013-14a nd the Industry would need 6 million additional manpower by 2022. He briefed that Apparel Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council has been set up to produce students as per industry demands and plans to certify 2 million people till 2022 in Apparel Sector. He apprised students that post January 1, 2017, no one shall be allowedto leave India for work permit without Skill Certificate. Dwelling on the industry expectations from young talent, he further said that students should know their industry well, improve oratory skills, be confident and work with ingenuity.
Mr. Ashvinder Singh- Managing Director, Uni Style Image motivated students to set up their own standards and aspirations and start designing their wardrobes right from the beginning. He briefed students that there are various sectors existing in Fashion Industry including “Value for money Brands”, “Aspirational Brands”, “Luxury Brands” and “Super Luxury Brands” and it is on students to decide whether they want to design for masses or classes.
Sharing his views, Mr. Ashok Raman, Vice President- Marketing, Shahi Exports stressed that India’s apparel export is miniscule 3% of the global trade as compared to China which is 39% of the global trade. Sharing the mantra for success, he called upon the students to have a passion to bring the best fashion in quickest possible time, to be inquisitive, focus on their strengths and work as a team together for common goal.

Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT) organised the annual fashion & art festival KREATIV’15. This annual event provides an exclusive platform to the students for displaying their talent to the spectators, who comprise of industry veterans, media & academic community. The event also invites the industry-experts to share their views on contemporary topics of interest, so that the audience could gain from the knowledge of speakers and benefit accordingly.
This year as part of KREATIV’15, an array of activities were hosted from 24th to 26th March, 2015. One of these activities was ASFT Seminar on the theme of "Design Innovation: Future of Fashion & Textiles."
The morning of 25th March, 2015 witnessed the arrival of a battery of high profile industry experts, academicians, entrepreneurs and designers, sharing their diverse experiences and learning with the captive audience at Amity University. Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Joshi, Director, (ASFT, ASFA & ASPA) initiated the seminar by delivering the Welcome Address.
Mr. Vijay Mathur, Additional Secretary General, Apparel Export Promotion Council gave the Theme address in which he spoke about the Apparel & Fashion industry in India. Eminent industry persons like Mr. Roopak Malik, Director, Textiles Sourcing Ltd.; Mr. Satya Suman, Fashion Designer; Mr. Dhruv Gupta, Fashion Designer; Mr. Ayon Banerjee, Creative Director spoke on the theme of "Design & Product Development: Tool For Market Growth."
While Mr. Darshan Bhat, Managing Director, Creatnet Services Ltd. spoke on the subject of "Innovations in Fashion & Textiles" well-known academicians like Prof (Dr.) V.K. Kothari, Textile Techn. Dept, IIT, Delhi & Prof (Dr.) Prabir Jana, Head-Research, Nift, Delhi expressed their views on the theme of "Use Of Advanced Technologies in Textiles & Apparels."

The conference commenced with the inaugural address by Dr. Pradeep Joshi, Director, (ASFT, ASFA & ASPA), where he stressed upon the need for building competitive strategies for fashion industry in order to become successful in the quota-free world. The conference witnessed reputed Fashion & Apparel industry experts speaking on relevant topics in todays’ challenging times.

While Mr. Anant Sadana, CEO, Apparel United and Mr. Arindam Saha, Associate Director, Wazir Consultant spoke on the topic of "India: An Emerging Sourcing Hub", Mr. Munish Tyagi, Senior Technical and Textile Consultant and Dr. Rajesh Bheda, Principal &CEO, Rajesh Bheda Consulting Pvt. Ltd gave important insights on the subject of "Initiatives in Apparel Manufacturing by Industry."
Mr. Rajeev Bansal, Managing Director, Celestial Knits & Fabs Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Devender Gupta, Board Member, Asmara International shared their views on the strategies to be followed by Indian manufacturers in competitive times.
Mr. Arvind Sharma, Head Marketing (North), Reliance Trends stressed on the changing retail landscape, when he spoke about the journey of Reliance stores in small towns and hinterland of the country. Ms. Nidhi Passi, Sr. Manager-Marketing, DLF Emporio presented the case of a Specialty Mall like DLF Emporio, by referring to the various events hosted by it as well as the different avenues explored for developing and inviting customers to the mall.
Ms. Pakhie Saxena, Associate Director, Retail & Consumer Products Division, Technopak and Ms. Simran Singh, Retail Consultant discussed the changing customer profiles in the country and how it is influencing the strategies followed by various retailers.
Mr. Pankaj Renjhen, Managing Director- Retail Services, Jones Lang La Salle dwell at length at the changing retail locations in the country and its importance for the growing Indian Retail Industry.
Mr. Nikhil Thukral, MD Maharana of India; Mr. Hemant, Fashion Designer, Hemant & Nandita and Ms. Pratima Pandey, Fashion Designer shared their thoughts on "Opportunities for Growth: Perspectives of Design" while Mr. Vikram Jit Singh, GM-HR, Li & Fung gave an HR perspective to the Apparel Industry in India. Giving a glimpse of retail sector, Mr. Savio Nunes, Asst. Vice President – Operations, Lifestyle Retail said that in recent times in this sector many brands have opened and closed. Only those brands have survived which can offer something different and as per customer’s demand. Market has an appetite but it takes time to pick up which depends on product sale, pocket size of customer and right location, averred Mr. Nunes.
While addressing the budding designers, Mr. Rohit Arora, Regional Business Manager – Titan Watches said that one should have conviction and belief in oneself, than the tenure of job does not matter. Speaking about opportunities in jewellery and watch industry, Mr. Arora said that India is the second largest market for jewellery with market size of 30 billion dollars and largest consumer of Gold in the World. In India 850 tonnes of Gold is consumed every year. India accounts 90% market share of diamond industry. Jewelly business is highly seasonal and around 40% of sales happen during wedding season. Mr. Arora said that Indian watch industry began in 1961 with just one player HMT. Today the market size is 35 million dollar and the consumption is still low to 25 watches per 1000 persons.
Sharing the words of wisdom with the students, Mr. Manik Dhodi, Vice President – Hotels & Retail, Shipra World said that in this highly competitive world, one should need to give birth to creativity and think out of the box. Mr. Dhodi advised to have short term goals and gradually one should celebrate and enjoy the journey towards the success. While speaking on employment opportunities in fashion, Mr. Dhodi said that there no dearth of opportunities for talented youngsters, one can move to retail, merchandising, marketing, design, network expansion, supply chain segment etc.
Mr. Umesh Chaudhary, HR Head – Ritu Wears Big Life said that quality of talent coming these days is very good. Mr. Chaudhary raised caution that no matter how good are you or your work, you have to publicize it. Apart from hard work do smart work with honesty and integrity. During his address Mr. Ashvini Kumar, DGM-Retail, Uninor expressed his sheer delight in interacting with the students fraternity and said "It is heartening to witness that India is becoming the prime focus for international clients, the reason being its robust growth rate even during shrinking global economy. He added “there is both hope and scope in the Indian market at present and it is rather expected to improve further by many folds in the times to come for the aspiring professionals to pursue their careers. Interacting with the students Ms. Arti Singh, Sr. Marketing Manager - Shipra Mall, said “Fashion consciousness and brand awareness today have penetrated the lifestyles of the Indians to the extent where even toddlers are prompt in identifying themselves with the brands that offer their category of Haute couture or accessories, unlike a decade or two ago." She added "this practically evinces the fact that fashion now has seeped into the lives of people in a deep and intense way to develop greater shopping habits in and also develop more fashion consciousness and brand awareness in them."
The inaugural day of KREATIV ’11 was further embellished with the exotic exhibition and display work of graduating students of FINE ARTS programmes (to continue during the two days of the festival) and an Inter Institute Competition (For Apparel Design, Painting & Animation).
A talk show on "Indian Art in Global Art Scenario" by renowned artists like Ms. Sunaina Anand, Director, Art Alive Gallery, Dr. Alka Raghuvanshi, Artist, Mr. George Martin, Artist, Mr. Farhad Hussain, Artist, Ms. Neha Kripal , Director , India Art Summit, Mr. Anil Sharma,Art Director, Ms. Reshma Jaiswal, Rudra Eye Mr. Samit Das, Artist etc and a Ceremony to confer Lifetime Achievement Awards to , Padma Vibushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh (Dance), Padma Shree Ms. Anjolie Ela Menon (Art) and renowned Designer Mr. Suneet Varma (Fashion) were the chief highlights of the final day of KREATIV 11.
The other attractions of the festival to unfold during the concluding day included ‘NATYA-KATHA Story Telling with a difference’ by Padma Vibhushan, Dr. Sonal Mansingh, a Fashion Show & Brand Show – showcasing design collection of students and an Award ceremony wherein categories of Emerging Talent Awards (based on the Inter institute Competition) as well as Awards for Best Display/ Graduation Design Collection (for ASFT & ASFA ) have been bestowed upon.

Seminar dated 20th july 2011 - "Expectations of the Fashion Industry from Young Professionals."
20th July, 2011, witnessed the industry speakers from reputed design, brand and retail companies addressing the new batch of MBA (Fashion Management) students on the topic of "Expectations of the Fashion Industry from Young Professionals." This session saw a galaxy of well-known industry professionals having extensive experience with reputed companies sharing their invaluable knowledge with the students. The session opened with Mr.Rishabh Gupta, North Head-Marketing, Pantaloon throwing some light on the scenario of the retail industry in India and abroad. He elaborated on the dream of Future Group and its journey from inception to expansion. This was followed by an address by Ms. Garima Makkar who with her rich experience in reputed companies like Duke Fashions, Avon, H2O Plus & Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Beauty & Wellness Division) motivated the students to achieve new heights as the sky is the limit for the right professionals.
The session further continued with Ms. Chhavi Singh, Area Manager (Delhi NCR), Arvind Lifetsyle Brands Ltd. emphasizing the various skills and knowledge levels required by youngsters to succeed in the various functional areas of Fashion Management. Mr. Anil Goklani, a successful Retail Entrepreneur, heading 3 Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs) of Levi Strauss, Adam Clothing and Walk-in MnB detailed the evolution of Fashion Marketing & Retailing in India and the need of the industry in the changing global environment. Mr.Arun Tiwari, Design Consultant & Owner, Earthen Canvas, a designer-wear brand shared his rich experience with Allen Solly, Madura Garments as well as his own entrepreneurial streak and emphasized the need for a dual combination of creativity & management for succeeding in the Fashion industry.
The industry interface for all the other academic programmes of ASFT & ASFA took place on 29th July, 2011 and saw leading experts from Fashion & Apparel industry, artists & animation professionals pay a visit to Amity University, Noida and enthral the students with their presentations. This interface with the industry commenced with Mr. Savio Nunes, Asst. Vice President – Operations, North at Lifestyle India Pvt. Ltd. encouraging students by the growth opportunities being offered by the retail industry in India & abroad. This was followed by an engrossing presentation from Ms. Aruna Bal Sharma, Retail Head, Rohit Bal Fashions, who is taking care of the Balance Chain of Designer-wear stores. Ms. Sharma quoted from her 25 years of experience in Belgium and other European countries and reputed companies like KSA-Technopak thereby guiding the students for excelling in their careers.
Mr. Rajesh Chaudhary, Sr. Manager – HR, Pantaloon Retail India Limited then took on the stage and interacted with the students about the changing scenario of the Indian Retail Industry and how the various retail players are putting their act together to deal with it. After this presentation, Mr. Niket Mishra, Designer, Niket & Jainee emphasized the role of creativity in today’s fashion industry. Mr. Shakti Sinha, Business Head, Lerrosthen spoke on the various opportunities being thrown open in Indian Apparel Market as well as the challenges of increasing competition due to the arrival of various foreign garment brands in the country.

Fashion, fun and fiesta with a dash of knowledge sharing and hobnobbing with renowned artists, fashion designers marked the beginning of two day "Kreativ'10", the annual Fashion and Art event by Amity School of Fine Arts (ASFA) and Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT). The event started with a talk show on "Indian Art in Global Scenario" in which renowned artists Mr. Keshav Malik – Sr. Art Critic, Mr. Suneet Chopra- Sr. Art Critic, Ms. Mithu Sen- Artist, Mr. M. Ramachandran- Regional Secretary, Lalit Kala Academy, Delhi and Ms. Rosshni Vadhera- Vadhera Art Gallery presented their views.
The seminar was followed by honoring of the eminent artist, Mr. Satish Gujral with Lifetime Achievement Award for Art by Ms. Divya Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity School of Fine Arts (ASFA) and Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT). The artist was accompanied by his wife, Ms. Kiran Gujral. Mr. Satish Gujral and his wife inaugurated" SRIJAN", which is an exhibition and display of the works of graduating students of Amity School of Fine Arts.

The main objective of the seminar was to synergize with stakeholders and find solutions and directions that would help in synchronizing design and technology education with the needs of fashion & textiles industry 4.0.

The seminar brought together experts from different sectors of the apparel & textiles supply chain to discuss rapid transformation in product design, production processes, planning, production engineering, marketing, logistics, communication and retailing due to digitalization. While artificial intelligence, automation, robotics have transformed manufacturing industries into smart factories, e-commerce, augmented reality, digitalization have completely changed the way consumers buy fashion. Industry 4.0 has made the supply chain faster, more flexible, transparent and efficient. The cross-disciplinary seminar was intended to explore emerging technologies and changing requirements of the industry in the new tech-driven world. It also discussed key challenges that the industry is facing.

The half-day seminar was graced by prominent names of the apparel industry from different parts of the world. The session was opened by Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Joshi, DG, Amity Directorate of Applied Arts/ Fine Arts/ Performing Arts/ Visual Arts. Dr. Joshi welcomed the esteemed guests with saplings. He oriented the students towards the need of adopting new technologies, innovative business models and competitive strategies to meet the requirements of industry 4.0.
During the first session, Mr. Ram Sareen, Head Coach-Founder, Tukatech, USA discussed the strategies for collaboration between industry and academia to put industry 4.0 concepts to practice. He also showed a presentation on 3D automation solution to tackle fit issues in clothes. Mr. Ram also discussed “On-Demand” concept that would totally disrupt the current apparel demand & supply market.

The next speaker on the dais was Mr Anil Peshawari, Vice President, Noida Apparel Export Cluster & MD, Meenu Creations. Mr Peshawari talked about new opportunities in fashion & textile sector in the evolving scenario. He emphasized the need to adopt smart processes and smart technologies to evolve from traditional factories to smart factories.

Mr Nitin Gupta, EVP, Technology & Marketing at Asmara International, discussed how the process of product development has been completely disrupted due to smart technologies like Tukatech, CLO, Optitex. He demonstrated through a presentation, how true-to-life virtual samples can be created within hours and how it helps to save time, resources and human efforts, making the supply chain faster and more efficient.
Ms Reet Arora, Director, Bir Horizons, discussed the use of innovative technologies in knit fabric manufacturing & processing. She motivated the students to embrace emerging technologies, to keep pace with the rapidly changing industry.
Next speaker, on the dais was Prof. (Dr.) Prabir Jana, Shahi Chair Professor Industry 4.0 at NIFT, New Delhi. Dr. Jana talked about Education 4.0, specifically for fashion & Apparel sector. He discussed the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and the industry to best meet the needs of the sector. He also spoke about the skills required by aspiring fashion students to be competitive in the changing scenario.

The second session of the seminar was opened by Ms Samudi Gunawardana, Business Development Manager, NCinga, Sri Lanka. She talked about Industry 4.0 aligned manufacturing execution systems for next generation smart factories. She emphasized how smart automation, real time operational insights and predictive analytics are driving industry 4.0, by unlocking the power of data.
Mr. R.C. Kesar, Director General, Okhla Garment & Textile Cluster, discussed preparedness of Indian apparel industry 4.0 and expectations from young professionals in the field of fashion. He laid stress on adoption of new techniques and innovations by manufacturers to produce garments faster, better and cheaper as there is a lot of competition from other south Asian countries like Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, China.
The topic of sustainability in Industry 4.0, was covered by Mr. Rajesh Paramjeet Jain, Consultant, Fashion & Retail space in the Indian subcontinent. He called attention to developing successful strategies for acceleration of an existing business through product, people, processes and technology keeping sustainability goals in the forefront.
The next speaker was Mr. Sanjai Saxena, Senior Vice-President- Sales at Royal Datamatics Pvt. Ltd. He spoke on the criticality of technology to enable future ready fashion companies. According to him, free Energy, virtual Offices, sensors, Big Data and Robotics are surely the 5 disruptions the industry is about to witness.
The session was then thrown open for a question and answer round. Students asked many questions related to their role in tech-driven world, expectations from them and the skills that matter the most.

So it is a tough task for the retailers to attract more customers and retain them.

Amity School of Fashion Technology, Amity University UP organized a half day seminar on “Fashion E-Commerce in India – Opportunities, Challenges and Way Forward” on the 28thFebruary 2023. The Event was held in E2 auditorium. Around 200 plus participants including Faculty members, UG and PG students from ASFT attended the seminar. The seminar was very interactive throughout and students had many questions.
The seminar was organized under leadership of Prof.( Dr.) Pradeep Joshi Group Additional Pro VC ; Director General & Dean (FACULTY OF FINE ARTS/ APPLIED ARTS/PERFORMING ARTS/ VISUAL ARTS).
The struggle for customers is becoming increasingly fierce as more and more fashion firms, large and small, establish an online presence. The fashion organization's websites must deliver an excellent user experience to engage visitors and increase conversion rates. Uploading a catalogue and enabling online transactions is no longer sufficient. This seminar aims to start a dialogue about the possible ways to achieve this excellence in the fashion industry.
Objectives of the seminar were to provide understanding of what customers value in fashion e-commerce and also to develop an understanding of the changes taking place in the Indian fashion e-commerce industry.

Mr. Apaar is a start-up professional who aims at changing the landscape of the fashion industry. The Design Cart is a tech enabled Ecommerce platform, to help designers, brands and fashion industry to source raw supplies efficiently. They were part of shark tank India season 1. Mr apaar presented his view on Fashion E-Commerce in India.
The next speaker was Ms. Aradhika Mehta- Head of Marketing at Tasva, ABFRL
Ms. Aradhika is a Seasoned business leader and has proven success at delivering high growth & consistent results in the most challenging environments and industries. She has rich cross-category experience in Marketing, Brand building, Category management, innovations, Learning &Development, and Customer Experience at iconic, game-changing brands that have helped her acquire a sharp understanding of business and its drivers and she shared her understanding with students
Ms. Mini Sharma- Chief Business Officer at Ogaan.com and Ogaanmarket.com was the next speaker to present her views on “Fashion E-Commerce in India – Opportunities, Challenges and Way Forward” . Ms. Sharma is an Experienced Business Head with a demonstrated history of working in the apparel and fashion industry. Her area of expertise includes Sales & Marketing, Retail, Category Management, Brand Management, planning, Buying and sourcing. Ms Mini Sharma is a Strong business development professional graduated from National Institute of Fashion Technology Delhi.
