Prevention of Sexual Harassment Cell (POSHC)

POSHC was constituted for Lucknow campus on 11th June 2013. It is as per regulation 12 of AUUP and UGC and is duly approved by registrar and VC.
The Internal Committee (IC), with sub-judicial powers, has been set up as per Supreme Court and UGC guidelines duly approved by VC and registrar of the University.
It has created a gender sensitive environment to maintain dignity of students particularly of girls and ensure gender justice. It is an eve-teasing free campus. In case of any untoward incident strict action is taken through IC.
The cell is open to both boys and girls. In the entire campus the gender sensitization posters have been put up and the campus is an eve-teasing free campus.
To raise awareness against sexual harassment and prevent cases of sexual harassment in campus. To resolve cases of sexual harassment within stipulated time through IC.
Since 2013, 38 cases have been resolved with adequate justice and punishment and in many cases, accused have given even public apology.

Gender Sensitization Programmes

AASHA (Amitian Against Sexual Harassment Activities) Club of Amity University, Lucknow Campus in association with various National and International organizations and foundations is organizing Gender Sensitization programs like Gender Equality and Self Defense Training etc. under Chairpersonship of Dean Student Welfare.
The objectives of the programs is to educate and build an eco-system that not only builds capacity but provides an enabling environment for students to adopt gender sensitive attitude and behaviors in their personal as well as professional spaces.
Self Defense Training In the wake of increasing crimes against women, empowerment of girls through self-defense training is considered essential. Prof (Dr) Manju Agrawal, Dean Student Welfare, Chairperson of POSHC, Amity University Lucknow Campus organized self-defense training for girl students by Ms Usha Vishwakarma and her team, Founder of Red Brigade. More than 100 girls participated in the training for three days.
