Market Demand: According to a new report from markets, the global empty capsules market was worth $1.30 billion in 2014 and is predicted to reach a value of $1.82 billion by 2019, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.0 percent over the period. The key driver of the market is said to be the rapid evolution of the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries as a result of aging populations, rising income levels, increasing awareness of personal health, easy access to high-quality healthcare facilities and favorable government initiatives. A wide variety of therapeutic applications use capsules, including antibiotic drugs, vitamins and dietary supplements, antacid and anti- flatulent preparations, anti-inflammatory drugs, cardiovascular therapy drugs, cough and cold remedies and antiemetic preparations.

USP:

  • This opens the option for a larger customer base.
  • These capsules are available in various colors and sizes, and are more flexible in their application.
  • Vegetarian capsules are cost effective as compared to animal protein based capsules available in the market.

Brief Details:

India is the world’s largest producer of Rice. India produces 98 million tons of Rice fodder. The rest is mostly burned in the fields, though a small amount is also consumed by brick kilns and paper and packaging industry. Every year about 12 million tons of rice straw is burned in Punjab. There is an emergency situation in Delhi. We must look alternative applications of Rice straw so as burning of straw is stopped. The present invention involves development of Fire Retardant Rice Straw Composite for Building and Construction Industry

TRL Level: 4 The technology developed and validated up to lab scale

Brief Detail:

The Present Technology aims to provide smart sponges for efficient removal of oil, organic pollutant and pathogens from industrial waste water which provides facile cost-effective approach of preparation with long-term durability and reusability. Most of the nanomaterials incorporated in the polymer sponge to improve efficiency are available in nature abundantly, thus lowering the cost of manufacturing.

TRL Level: 4 The technology developed and validated up to lab scale

USP:

  • The Process developed for preparation of the polymer nanocomposite sponge is simple;
  • The reusable polymer nanocomposite can be used 70 times for oil absorption without much loss in efficiency;

Brief Details:

The present invention provides development, design and fabrication of a prototype system for instant solar thermal water heating using phase change material (PCM) - nanocomposite and utilizing this energy to heat water. The system consists of: (i) a solar collector unit (a 60 cm x 45 cm area Fresnel lens), ii) a thermal energy storage (TES) unit filled with PCM Nanocomposite and iii) a well-insulated water storage tank. The novel phase change material (PCM)-nanocomposite consisting of two organic PCMs; paraffin wax and oleic acid & nanomaterial in the form of Nano graphite is used to test the efficacy of the system. The insulation of the 4-ring cylindrical storage system is capable of storing the solar thermal energy in PCM nanocomposite during the nighttime.

TRL Level: 4 The technology developed and validated up to lab scale

USP:

  • Cost effective technology
  • Substitute of conventional technology
  • Esay to fabricate

Brief Details:

Amity University has developed a reusable, economic and easy to carry first of its kind water purifier based on silver nano embedded porous concrete pebbles. The present product is in the form of a small portable dip-dip container is likely to be priced at an unimaginably low cost as compared to other products in the segment. The Eco-friendly purifier provides around 100% decontamination of microbial load in the treated water. The device has very good reusability and its efficacy remains the same even after 120-125 uses within a time span of 6 months.

TRL Level: 4 The technology developed and validated up to lab scale

USP:

  • Pocket  friendly;
  • 100% removal of microbial contamination;
  • Economical & reusable besides being user friendly;
  • No leaking of nanomaterials or any toxic chemicals;
  • Does not require any  source of energy voltage or UV light;
  • Can be modified in any form i.e., continuous system or   water   treatment tank;
  • Can also be merged with already available  treatment system in the market;
  • Works even in high TDS range;
  • An alternative  to plastic bottles, Prevents environmental pollution by plastics

The Technology has received National award from DST, Govt of India & International award from U.K. for being socially & economically very relevant Innovative Technology.

Brief Details:

The present invention relates to a self -sustained system to generate electricity and clean industrial waste water simultaneously without any external source. The invention provides a novel chemical free method for cleaning the Industrial waste water using its self-generated electric power. This new method has dual benefit as on one hand one gets cleaning water within few hours secondly same technique is used to generate electricity from waste. The system according to the invention uses two electrodes one acts as anode (Aluminum) and another acts as cathode (Carbon). Since the industrial waste contains lot of dyes as well as other ions, it acts as electrolytes.

TRL: 4 The technology developed and validated up to lab scale

USP:

  • Consumes very less amount of Energy;
  • Simple, low maintenance & cost effective air conditioner;
