INDIA’S LEADING UNIVERSITY WITH RESEARCH AND EDUCATION INITIATIVES IN SPACE SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY DOMAIN
Major Prototypes Developed
Biological payload for microgravity experimentation developed by Amity University Mumbai, successfully launched by aboard ISRO’s PSLV-C60 POEM-4. The demonstrator was designed to study the growth behavior of Spinacia oleracea (spinach) callus under microgravity conditions. It integrated onboard cameras and sensors to monitor color variation and lateral growth in real time, enabling in-orbit observation of plant tissue response in space.
AMITY SATELLITE SYSTEM: AMISAT is a 3U CubeSat mission aimed at developing a cost-effective miniature satellite in sun-synchronous low Earth orbit, powered by body-mounted solar panels. The mission objectives include satellite health monitoring via beacon signals, Earth observation imaging using an EOS camera, and gamma-ray detection through a radiation monitoring payload. AMISAT serves as a technology and scientific demonstrator for Earth observation, space environment studies, research, and educational applications.
