Eligibility Criteria for Admission :
Candidates seeking admission to
the Ph.D. Program, whether full time or part time, shall have to possess
requisite percentage of marks / grade point average in qualifying
examination as indicated below:

The required minimum qualification for admission to a Ph.D Program
is a) Master’s from a recognised Indian or Foreign University/
Institute in the relevant field with minimum 55% marks or Equivalent
CGPA OR
b) A four years Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised
Indian or Foreign University/ Institute in the relevant field with
minimum 75% marks or Equivalent CGPA.
Direct admission to
Ph.D. in this category will be in Full Time mode.

As per UGC regulations 2022, Section 3(1)(i), a relaxation of 5% marks
or its equivalent grade is permissible for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC
(non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Sections
(EWS), and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the
Commission from time to time.Candidates applying under this clause are
solely responsible for timely submission of related valid documentary
proof via email or in person for complete processing of their
application form.

Applicants who have successfully completed their first year degree
course (Undergraduate course) by 04/June/1986, irrespective of the
duration, shall be treated at par with those who have completed a three
year first degree course. Those who hold a two year first degree and had
enrolled for this course after 04/June/1986, will be required to undergo
a further one year bridge course. UGC notification dated 17/August/2015
- Applicants with Chartered Accountancy (CA)
Qualification from 'The Institute of Chartered Accountants
of India' (ICAI)/ Cost and Works Accountancy of
ICWAI/ Company Secretary of ICSI with a minimum
55% marks or equivalent grade may be considered eligible for
admission to Ph.D. Programs in the relevant field.
- Foreign/ NRI applicants / Applicants with a Masters’
degree from a foreign university must apply
with an equivalence certificate of AIU along with the Online
Application Form.
Exemption from PhD Entrance Test/Written Test
Candidates who have successfully cleared an All India National Level
Competitive Examination or NET (viz. UGC / CSIR -NET in Category 1,2 or
3, ICMR- JRF/SRF, ICAR-AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD), GATE, GPAT, DST –
INSPIRE, DBT-JRF etc) and have cleared it in the relevant
field, shall be exempted from Amity’s PET (PhD
Entrance Test) as per the Validity of the
score/result mentioned in their certificate. They will
be required to appear in the Interview round only. For consideration of
exemption, they must timely submit scanned copy of the official
certificate, along with the application form or via mail, but not later
than two days prior to their PET date. Only exempted Candidates will
receive a message of exemption on their admission microsite/ admit card.
Those who do not receive such a message will be required to appear in
APET (Amity’s Ph.D. Entrance Test).
