Hello everyone! My name is Abhisekh Kumar Yadav, and I'm a proud student of the BSc Actuarial Science class of 2022-2025, currently navigating my way through Semester IV. I'm thrilled to share my journey as an international student at Amity School of Insurance, Banking, and Actuarial Science (ASIBAS) from Nepal.
The faculty here are incredibly knowledgeable and bring extensive experience in Actuarial Science, Insurance, and Information Technology. They are genuinely invested in both our academic and personal development. Weekly mentor-mentee meetings are a testament to their commitment, offering us a platform to discuss any issues we face directly with our professors. The learning environment is highly conducive to curiosity, encouraging us to engage actively during and after lectures. The faculty are always available until 5:30 PM to clarify doubts regarding our professional papers and to offer guidance on preparing for professional exams, highlighting key topics and concepts.
On the academic front, the syllabus is meticulously covered, ensuring we're well-prepared not just for our college exams but for our professional ones too. They take great care to schedule exams so that there are no conflicts between professional and college examinations.
In terms of exposure, the administration goes above and beyond by organizing guest lectures and seminars with industry professionals. These sessions provide invaluable insights into the real-world dynamics of the industry and the essential skills needed to thrive. Prominent institutions like the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) and the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) also contribute to our learning experience. By the end of the course, students have the opportunity to secure placements in various prestigious companies.
Beyond academics, the campus life is vibrant with a plethora of extra-curricular activities. Events like the Amity Youth Fest (AYF) and Sangathan offer numerous opportunities for students to showcase their talents in sports, music, dance, and more. Competitions ranging from Actuarial, Finance & Mathematics Quizzes to Arm Wrestling and university-level dance contests keep the campus life exciting and engaging.
Being a part of ASIBAS has been an enriching and fulfilling experience, blending rigorous academic training with a wealth of opportunities for personal growth and professional development.
