Legal Aid and Awareness Camp on “Child Marriage” at Sirohi Village

Amity Law School, Rajasthan organized a Legal Aid and Awareness Camp on 16th April 2025 at Panchayat Bhawan, Sirohi village, near Chandwaji. The theme of the camp was “Child Marriage”.

The Chief Guest, Shri Krishna Dutt Chauhan, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Sirohi, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance providing legal aid in rural communities and the necessity of spreading awareness on key social issues

Following this, the Guest of Honour, Shri Satish Jha, Village Development Officer, spoke about the critical need to educate people about the harms of child marriage and how awareness can lead to positive social change.

Dr. Kunal Rohira, Assistant Professor at Amity Law School, also shared his views on the role of legal awareness in combating such issues. The session concluded with a keynote address by Prof. (Dr.) Anil G. Variath, Dean and Director of Amity Law School, who highlighted the significance of legal aid as a tool for empowering society and promoting justice.

A street play (nukad natak) was performed by students to creatively convey the message and raise awareness on the issue of child marriage among the villagers. The event witnessed participation from approximately 70 residents of Sirohi village, Panchayat Amer, Jaipur.
