STRONGER TOGETHER ON WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY
For the upcoming WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY (10thSeptember 2019), poster making competition “STRONGER TOGETHER” was organized by Amity Institute of Behavioural and Allied Sciences, AUMP on September 3rd, 2019.
The theme of the event was “STRONGER TOGETHER” with the objective to increase awareness about Suicide Prevention and Engross the Hidden Talent of the Students.The students showed their abilities through art, wherein they expressed their feelings in the form of paintings which play an important role to sensitize the public regarding issues at large. AIBAS organizes this event every year to sensitize the students and faculties of AUMP about suicide and related issues.
The event got 120 registrations and 60 teams consisting of two students each participated in the competition. The event started at 9:30 am and students were enthusiastic.
The Sub-themes of the event were- Art of Healing; Beat Depression with Happy Expression; Healthy Mind and Healthy World; Celebrate Wellbeing; Don’t Hide Let Others Help; Love Yourself; Train Your Brain to Lose Your Strain; Be the Change to See the Change. All the participants performed well and the best three were selected by the judges based on pre-established criteria.

Kaushik, HoI AIBAS Dr.Deepa Pandey, HoD Clinical Psychology Dr Rajendra Sharma and of other departments and faculty coordinator of the event Ms. Shubhagata Awasthi, Dr. Vatsal P. Pandey, Ms. Jennifer Chandani and Mr. Akash Vishwakarma, AIBAS were present. Hon’ble Vice ChancellorLt. Gen. V.K. Sharma, AVSM Retired,also presented his thoughts on decreasing suicidal tendencies among youngsters and assured to provide support from the University. Sir appreciated and encouraged all the participants for their efforts.
