BRIEF OF WORKSHOP
Registrations and Participation.
Registration was free for UG students, while Rs. 200/- was fee for research scholars and faculty members. Approximately 130 students, scholars, and faculty members joined the workshop.
Session-1: 06th March 2025, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
The session was started with the opening remark by Honorable Vice-Chancellor sir and followed by word of wisdom by Honorable Pro-Chancellor sir. In this session Dr. Ankur Singh, Asst. Professor, PDEU, Gandhinagar trained the participants on the installation and initial document preparation using desktop applications. In this session, trainer gave a hands on practice to prepare the articles in a journal formats.
Session-2: 07th March 2025, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
This session started with a more emphasis on various journals and thesis formats. In this training time, Dr. Ankur Singh gave the idea of various mathematical symbols, equations, and various array structures. He also gave an initial idea on figures and table insertion.
Session-3: 07th March 2025, 20:00 PM to 03:00 PM
In the third session, Dr. Dheerendra Mishra, Asst. Professor, MANIT, Bhopal gave the vast idea on table creating and graphic insertion. Dr. Mishra trained the participant on various types of tables creating and various types of data types to put in the tables. He also explained the idea on various figures insertion using different types of structures. At the end of the workshop, the participant were acquainted with a deep knowledge of article preparation using latex. They get a practice on both desktop and online platforms using Overleaf.
Outcome of the workshop
Ø Enhanced Research Paper Writing Skills: Faculty and students have learned to structure and format research papers according to international standards.
Ø Better Understanding of Scientific Writing: The workshop has improved awareness of best practices in academic writing and technical documentation.
Ø Increased Competency in Research Paper Submission: Faculty and researchers can now submit papers to reputed journals and conferences without formatting issues.
Ø Collaboration and Networking: The workshop has fostered academic collaborations through shared knowledge and group projects on Overleaf.
Ø Confidence in Handling LaTeX for Professional Use: Participants can now independently use LaTeX for presentations, reports, and academic documentation.
Ø Efficiency in Research Workflow: Researchers can automate citations, references, and document formatting, saving time and effort.
Ø Use of LaTeX for High-Quality Graphs and Equations: Researchers can now produce publication-ready figures and mathematical equations.
Overall, the workshop has empowered the academic community at Amity by equipping them with a globally recognized tool for research writing.
