Online webinar on “Innovation in Corrosion Management for Reinforced Concrete Structures: Case Studies and Strategic Solutions” under IIC Activity

The Department of Civil Engineering, Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET), Amity University Madhya Pradesh (AUMP), successfully organized a webinar on "Innovation in Corrosion Management for Reinforced Concrete Structures: Case Studies and Strategic Solutions" on 18th March 2025. The event aimed to bring together academicians, researchers, and students to discuss the latest advancements in corrosion management and innovative solutions for reinforced concrete structures.

 

Registrations and Participation:
The webinar witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 70 attendees, including faculty members, research scholars, and students from various institutions.
Inaugural Session:
The session commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. P. Mahakavi, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, who served as the host. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Vimal Kumar Gupta, Head of the Department (Civil), ASET, who emphasized the significance of corrosion management in reinforced concrete structures.
Following this, the Presidential Address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Vikas Thada, Director (Offg.), ASET, AUMP. He highlighted the importance of innovation in civil engineering and the necessity of corrosion-resistant materials to enhance the durability of structures.
Keynote Address:
The highlight of the webinar was the keynote address by Dr. Ashok M, Senior Scientist at the Corrosion and Materials Protection Division, CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. Dr. Ashok provided valuable insights into the latest advancements in corrosion management, including sustainable materials, innovative coatings, and structural durability enhancements. His expertise in corrosion-resistant materials and case studies on practical applications offered an enriching experience to the attendees.
Q&A Session:
The session was followed by an interactive Q&A segment where participants engaged with Dr. Ashok M, seeking clarifications and discussing future research prospects in the field.

The webinar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. P. Mahakavi, Associate Professor, Civil Engineering, ASET.
