Amity Institute of Social Sciences organized an Elocution Competition on "The Gandhian Dream"for the students of Amity University Madhya Pradesh to commemorate Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi who is acknowledged for his doctrine of non-violence that led to India’s glorious freedom under the aegis of Gandhi Chair. The event took place on October 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:45 Noon in Seminar hall, Block D.
The programme commenced with a floral tribute paid to Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait by Prof (Dr) Iti Roychowdhury, Dir AISS/ASL/ASCENT and all the faculty members. The students of AISS sang Gandhi ji’s favourite bhajan ‘Vaishnav Jan toh’ with full exuberance. The seminar hall resonated with the eclectic, colourful and rich rendition of the many other favourite bhajans of the iconic leader.
The event followed the format of an Elocution Competition, with participants rendering speeches on the theme "The Gandhian Dream." The aim was to encourage students to explore and articulate Gandhian ideals as they pertain to modern society.
The purpose of the program was to commemorate the life, values, and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi by engaging students in activities that reflected his philosophy. The competition sought to foster a deeper understanding of Gandhi's vision for society, particularly focusing on the principles of non-violence, self-reliance, and social harmony.
