About the Course
- The AIDSS conducts a UG Programme titled BA (H)-D&SS. 98.5 per cent of the total number of courses have been designed for purpose of making the course industry/employment oriented. The is in sync with the New Education Policy (NEP) of the Government of India. The newly launched UG Programme is interdisciplinary as per the UGC guidelines providing the students a variety of subjects to explore as per their interests. The courses in the programme are bench marked as per global standards.
- Academic Depth: The program equips you with knowledge in areas like geopolitics, geoeconomics, military geography, military history, military psychology, national & international security, conflict resolution, defence economics, defence technology and its impact on strategy and regional security dynamics. You will learn understanding national security challenges, evaluating strategic options and analysing the evolving geopolitical landscape.
- Research and Analysis Skills: This degree hones your research, analytical, and critical thinking skills. You will learn to collect and analyse information, interpret complex data, and formulate well-informed arguments. These skills are valuable in various fields, not just defence related.

- Armed Forces: While direct entry requires specific exams and physical fitness tests, a DSS degree prepares you for service selection boards with valuable theoretical knowledge instilling confidence and deep awareness of military strategy, tactics and technology. A DSS student in armed forces will have an edge in the profession. You may also join civilian positions within the Ministry of Defence (MoD) or other defence organizations.
