Hon'ble VC Sir Dr Prof Dhrubojyoti Chattopadhyay with the guests

A seminar was held on 17^th Oct 2017 emphasizing theburning topic entitled “ Biodiversity, Pollution & Climate change”  in the seminar hall of Amity UniversityKolkata. The   seminar commenced with the song by Mr.  Soumayk Palei of Department of EnvironmentalScience. The programme was started by watering the plant. The inaugural speechwas given by Prof. Dr. Dhrubjyoti Chattopadhya. Welcome speech was addressed by Dr, Susanta Mitra. Three dignitariescame from Government of West Bengal. Dr. Tapas Gupta, Chief Engineer, Departmentof Environment, Government of West Bengal, Government of West Bengal addressed the gathering about the agenda ofState Pollution control Board. Dr.DipanjanaMaulik, Senior Environment Officer, Departmentof Environment, Government of West Bengal talked about the present climatescenario and climate change as well.  Dr.Anirban Roy, Research Officer, Biodiversity Board, Government of West Bengalhas imparted the knowledge about Biodiversity. The programme was concluded withthe vote of Thanks given by Dr. Dipanwita Das.

Students had a very good interaction session with the dignitariesand also got encouragement to carry out their project works in these GovernmentDepartments under the guidance of eminent scientists.
