Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Workshop
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) DFO, in collaboration with the National SC & ST Hub Kolkata and Amity University Kolkata, conducted a program to foster women’s entrepreneurship. Spearheaded by the Incubation Innovation Entrepreneurship Cell and the Amity School of Economics, the event provided valuable insights into the government supports available and other entrepreneurial strategies. The Government of India offers free consultancy for micro-enterprises to encourage business growth.
In the inaugural session, the distinguished speakers Gautam Poddar and Sejuti Datta (Assistant Directors, MSME) highlighted the vision of MSME, government schemes, and the Public Procurement Policy which reserves 3% procurement for women entrepreneurs.
The technical session saw some other enriching discussions by a galaxy of speakers. Among them, Dr Bidisha Roy of Amity University outlined the key startup strategies and the fundamentals of building a successful business. Shri Mriganka Sarkar from the National SC & ST Hub detailed SC/ ST Hub funding, GEM Portal, and SPRS schemes to simplify government procurement for entrepreneurs. Koyeli Banerjee and Niladri Adhikary representing SBI provided some important insights into financial assistance and project appraisal for MSMEs. Dr Sanghamitra Brahma of Amity University stressed the importance of creativity, resilience, and problem-solving in entrepreneurship.
The program effectively raised awareness about MSME initiatives, empowering women with the intended knowledge and resources to achieve financial independence and drive innovation.
