Amity Institute of English Studies and Research, Kolkata, organized a 4-day long Russian Authors Literary Meet from 4th to 7th February, 2020. Russia being the theme country at the Kolkata International Book fair 2020, the event included literary interactive sessions with some eminent Russian authors, with a view to enhance the literary and cultural ties between India and Russia and explore the possibility of future exchange programs. The presentations covered topics such as authorship, literary texts & criticism, gender roles, economy, creative writing, translation studies and so on, followed by enlivening question-answer sessions with students and faculty.

Mr. Piplani spoke of his association with Taj Mahal during its conservation and restoration. He emphasized the contribution of Masons & local Craftspeople, who play a major part in keeping the traditional techniques alive. He went on to provide alarming statistics of rate of conservation in India in spite of India being extremely rich in built heritage ; only 5 colleges all over India is providing conservation training in post-graduate level. He proposed a centre in West Bengal, perhaps initiated in Amity University could help in bridging this gap in awareness and maintaining authenticity during restoration and conservation of historical buildings.

"Mr. Nirmalya Chatterjee spoke on the Fundamental meaning of BIM, highlighted that BIM is a process and explained different stages of BIM, i.e., 3D-Modelling, 4D- Time, 5D- Cost, 6D- Sustainability and 7D- Facility Management Ar. Debashish Das spoke on the data driven design in BIM Environment. Ms. Artee Rana spoke on BIM Modelling for Digital Twins. Mr. Anirban Basu explained the concepts of constructability review, spatial coordination and quality take off Ar. Vivek Rathore spoke on how BIM is bringing about a change in the architectural practice Ar. Kunal Bhattacharya spoke on the design process, how architecture students could go about the same and start the use of BIM from the design stage itself. The technical sessions were followed by the panel discussion between the six speakers moderated by Principal of ASAPK, Professor Sonia Gupta"
