To equip students in research based knowledge in public health and Awareness of public health in India with its relevance and recent developments in public health sector along with recent medical developments nationally and internationally and also to develop the overall personality of students by making them not only excellent professionals but also good individuals, with understanding and empathy for human values, pride in their heritage and culture, a sense of right and wrong and yearning for perfection and imbibe attributes of courage of conviction and action.
The Master of Public Health (MPH) at AIPH is a two year full-time, four semesters’ program, offered within the state-of-the-art Amity University campus in Noida, India. The program has a mix of both core and elective courses. It provides students with a strong foundation in Epidemiology, Bio-statistics, Health Economics, Data Management & Analytics, Health Research Methods, Behavioral Sciences, AYUSH, Demography, NCDs, Public Health Planning and Management, Public Health Nutrition, Report Writing, Presentation and other technical and soft skills.
Practical component of the Program: In addition to classroom based learning, students are exposed to a variety of community and industry based exposure. They gain practical experience through mandatory internship and dissertation activities. A two-month summer internship at the end of second semester and three month dissertation during final semester are integral part of the program. These practical components provides the students with ample opportunities to understand practicalities of the prevalent health systems of the developed, emerging and developing economies, and prepares them to contribute towards addressing the contemporary issues of the health systems.
Amity Institute of Public Health has recently introduced an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Public Health. The students enrolled in the Ph.D. program are actively pursuing research in divergent disciplines of Public Health ranging from Media Intervention in Tobacco Advocacy policies to Development of Algorithms for Non-invasive Staging of Cervical Cancer Lesions.
The minimum duration of the Ph.D. program for fulltime research scholars is 3 years while the minimum duration of Ph.D. program for part-time scholars is 4 ½ years.
