Industrial Visit by Amity Business School

 As a part of the student’s exposure to the practical business world, Amity Business School, AUMP organized an industrial visit for MBA II Semester students on 16 February 2024.

A) The objectives of the Industrial visit were -
Objectives
1. To gain practical knowledge and exposure to the production processes and quality control systems of the automotive industry.
2. To provide a real-world understanding of the proceedings of the industry by observing the practical of the theoretical concepts learnt in the classroom.
3. To assist the students in exploring potential career paths 
4. To learn to build a professional network.
Name of the Company – J B Mangharam Pvt. Limited
 
Introduction
On 16 February 2024, a group of students of MBA II Semester – Section A & B, from Amity Business School, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, visited M/S J B Mangharam Pvt. Limited, Gwalior. The objective of the visit was to gain insights into the manufacturing process of the company and to understand the operational strategies adopted by the organization.
Company Overview
J B Mangharam Pvt. Limited, arrived in Gwalior sometime in the 1940s. They negotiated special tax concessions with the then Madhya Bharat Government. J B Mangharam has been a subsidiary of Britannia Foods since 1980. They have got many Quality Certifications like FSSAI, AIB and others. The range of biscuits they produce for Britannia are Bourbon, Milk Bikis, 50-50, Pure Magic, and Jim Jam.
Facility Tour
During the visit, we were welcomed by Senior Officer (HR) Ms Bimla Mishra and two officers (Safety). The students were given a training session on the Manufacturing process and safety measures to be followed inside the factory.  They were divided into two groups and taken on a guided tour of the manufacturing facilities. They learnt about the production process of biscuits for all the five brands the company is manufacturing under the banner of Britannia. The plant was well-organized and appeared to be clean and well-maintained. The company has a dedicated quality control department that ensures all products are of the highest quality. Students also learnt about the Kaizen practices of Mangharam.
The industry visits provided valuable insights into the industry and the Quality Systems Operation. Throughout the visit, the students learned about the importance of a structured approach to various industries, the role of collaboration and communication in successful change management and the value of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Overall, the industry visit was a valuable learning experience that provided the students with a better understanding of the industries and the change management initiatives of leading firms in the country. The students are grateful to the Hon’ble Pro Chancellor, Lt. Gen. V K Sharma (AVSM, Retd.) and Offtg. Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr.) Anil Vashisht, for the opportunity to visit the industry. The students look forward to applying these learnings in future careers and exploring further, the topics discussed during the visit.
