Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Awareness Program

Students learning of CPR technique under the observation of Dr Naveen Sharma

Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior conducted a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) awareness program on 06 December 2023 at 9:30 AM. This program was organized by the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). This program was mandatory to conduct in a pharmacy institute that had been instructed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
The CPR program was conducted under the guidance of Lt Gen VK Sharma, AVSM (Retd) Pro-Chancellor of Amity University, and Professor (Dr) S. Mohana Lakshmi, Director, Amity Institute of Pharmacy Gwalior. An online link to the program was given by the NBEMS for the conduction of this program and Dr Abhijat Sheth, President of NBEMS explained and sensitized the students and faculty members about the importance of CPR and educated them about the importance of CPR. He explained that cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency technique used when a person's heart stops beating. CPR can help maintain blood flow to the heart and brain by compressing the chest and providing oxygen from the rescuer's breaths.
 
In the program, Professor (Dr.) Naveen Sharma, Amity Institute of Pharmacy, and his team members Dr. P. Sagar, Dr. Vikas Pandey, and Mr. Arvind Singh Jadon taught the CPR technique, and they performed this technique with the help of students. 
 
Dr. Naveen Sharma said that learning CPR is an important skill that can save someone's life. He also told what precautions should be taken before performing CPR. He stated that performing CPR will allow the performer to contribute to the saving of lives while also raising CPR awareness in the community. He focused that we are committed to imparting important life-saving skills like CPR to the students and faculty members. 
 
During the program, participants were provided detailed information about the basic principles and techniques of CPR. They were also allowed to practice the skills and procedures required to perform CPR. Apart from this, the participants were also trained on how to handle various situations that may arise during CPR.Participants highly appreciated the program as they have gained valuable knowledge and skills. Professor (Dr.) Neeraj Mishra, all faculty members, and a large number of students were present on this occasion.
