Workshop on Basic Newborn Care and Resuscitation Programme

 Amity College of Nursing Organized workshop on Basic Newborn Care and Resuscitation and it began with the registration of participants facilitated by Ms. Minu Joseph and Rachnai Rai. 27 participants were registered Pretest for theory.

The dignitaries on the dais included Prof. Dr. Major General Mahavir Singh, Dean, Amity Medical School, Prof. Pranati Barua, Principal  ACON, Prof. Ratni Bhan, Nursing Advisor, ACON and the trainers. The trainers included Dr. Sunita Manchanda, Consultant Paediatrician, Miracles Aolescent Specialist, Max Hospital, Gurgaon; Dr.Premlata Krishnan, Senior Consultant Paediatrician and Adolescent Specialist, Gurgaon; Ms. Srinithya Raghavan, Nurse Educator, AIIMS, New Delhi and; Mr. Mukesh Chandra Sharma, Associate Prof. ACON. The dignitaries were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Smriti Arora, the course coordinator of the workshop. The guests were welcomed by the bouquets and mementoes by Ms Swapna Nair.

The aim of the workshop was to enhance the skills of participants related to basic newborn resuscitation.

The participants were taught about the skills at four stations facilitated by trainers. Each stationed was equipped with newborn resuscitation kit.

The workshop closed with the valedictory session. Gratitude was paid to the organizers and participants by the course coordinator. Certificates were distributed to the participants and trainers. Feedback was taken from the participants. Participants were very happy at the end of the workshop and appreciated the methodology of workshop i.e. hands on training in small groups and suggested that more of such workshops should be organized.
