Biotechnology has helped in shaping both business world and society in general. It has far reaching impacts in the fields of education, health, agriculture, food, pharmaceuticals, environment, sustainability, alternative energy, bio-fuels and waste management are some of the fields that are directly connect to Biotechnology. The impact of biotechnology in daily life is profound. With the advent of Information Technology, it has become a thriving sector and there is a spike in demand of professional biotechnologists in research units as well as national and international organisations.

The AIB student can work in different industries as listed below:

  • Healthcare, Drug and Pharmaceuticals
  • Food and Beverages
  • Agriculture
  • Fermentation
  • Dairy
  • Higher Education
  • Research and Development
  • Start ups, entrepreneur and incubator units in allied fields

AIB focuses on interdisciplinary research merging science and technology and to shape biotechnological developments under an ethical vision. We catalyze the formation and participation in biotechnology-based education programs campus-wide and with industries to address important national and global needs as well as work in the direction of technology transfer and their commercialization. Aiming to excel in all aspects of academic activity and produce professional technology-based engineers and entrepreneurs, AIB is on a consistent path to follow academic excellence and innovative pedagogy. The faculty members with sound teaching and research experience in their respective fields are dedicated towards training students and their holistic development. Together with the students, the faculty members form the major strength of AIB.

Students are taught how to plan experiments, perform them carefully, analyze the data accurately, and present the results both, qualitatively and quantitatively. AIB organises a wide range of seminars, workshops, conferences, guest lectures, interaction with industry stalwarts and experts to equip students with required verbal and presentation skills in Microbiology. Students read and research about different themes that develop critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills besides accumulation of knowledge.

The research projects undertaken by students are closely guided by experienced faculty and experts.

They guide students at every step on research problem, executing experiments, data collection and theory analysis. Students also learn to present the results in the form of an oral presentation as well as consolidated thesis.

In a nutshell, AIB adopts comprehensive approach involving faculties, scholars, and staff to groom students in the domain of their interest. Students are engaged in activity based participative learning involving case studies, field experience and rigorous hand-on practice in well-equipped laboratories to enhance their career.
