NATIONAL FASHION DESIGN COMPETITION

Amity School of Fashion Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, hosted the National Fashion Design Competition on March 26, 2025, under the theme "Renaissance of Craftsmanship – Reviving Traditions, Redefining Fashion."

The objective of the competition was to revive and sustain traditional crafts by integrating them into modern designs

The competition had been organized under the esteemed guidance of Ms Divya Chauhan, Chairperson ASFT, ASFA& ASPA and Professor (Dr.) Pradeep Joshi, Group Additional Pro Vice Chancellor, Director General & Dean (Faculty of Applied Arts/ Fine Arts/ Performing Arts/ Visual Arts).

The competition was open to Undergraduate and postgraduate design students from universities and design schools in including students from other Amity Campuses

There were 66 entries from various prestigious fashion institutes of India

The event attracted 66 passionate design enthusiasts from renowned fashion institutes across the country like Apparel Training and Design Centre ,Avantika University (Indore) , Indian Institute of Art and Design( Okhla), National Institute of Fashion Technology (Chennai), National Institute of Fashion Technology (Jodhpur) , National Institute of Fashion Technology (patna), National Institute of Fashion Technology (Sri Nagar) , Parul University (Vadodara ),K.R. Mangalam University (Sohna road), Amity University (Noida), Amity University (gurgaon ), Amity University (Lucknow)

The final stage of Competition witnessed the presence of renowned fashion & textile Industry experts like Sh Manjit Singh Saini( CEO, Paramount Group), Ms. Stuti Sharma( LEAD, Campus and Engagement, The Collective and International Brands, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd), Ms Shweta Thakur Nanda( Digital Marketing Branding & Communication Strategist)& Ms. Priyanka Pandey( Design Consultant & Fashion Entrepreneur, Studio Pinks)

For stage I The Jury members comprising of Fashion design faculty members shortlisted 23 entries who were given an opportunity to showcase their Fashion garments at amity university today

The prizes for this event have been sponsored by Paramount Instruments Pvt. Ltd., an affiliate of the renowned "Paramount Group" established in 1964 & rare rabbit

There were 4 consolation prizes of Gift Vouchers worth Rs 5000 each sponsored by Rare rabbit which were won by Jayshree vubbana (National Institute of Fashion Technology , Sri Nagar), Sadhna Mishra( IWP), Chandhana Deva .R(Indian Institute of Art and Design(IIAD) Okhla, new Delhi), Neha Goel(IWP)

Ayushi Singh from Amity University gurgaon won the third prize which comprised of a Cash prize of Rs 10,000 sponsored by Paramount industries

Anjali Dey from Amity University Noida secured the second prize, which included a cash award of Rs 15,000 sponsored by Paramount Industries. The first prize, a cash award of Rs 20,000 sponsored by Paramount Industries, was awarded to Sejal Rajawat from the Indian Institute of Art and Design

At the conclusion of the event, Professor (Dr.) Pradeep Joshi, Group Additional Pro Vice Chancellor, Director General, and Dean (Faculty of Applied Arts, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts), congratulated all the winners and expressed gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement, which contributed to the success of the event.

INTERINSTITUTE FASHION DESIGN COMPETITION

The evening of first day of Amity Youth Fest 2017 was bedecked with "KREATIV'17–Inter Institute Fashion Design Show Competition" organized by Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT) on the theme "Indian Textiles".


Over 11 Teams from various Institutes and Colleges participated in the Show including Apeejay Institute of Design, Pearl Academy- Noida, Institute Of Home Economics, Learning Institute For Styles & Arts, INIFD- Varanasi ,IMS Design & Innovation Academy, Institute Of Fine Arts,Modinagar , School of Fashion Design -Sharda University, International Institute Of Fashion Design, Gurgaon and Satyam Fashion Institute.

The first Team to walk the ramp was from Satyam Fashion Institute and the models displayed a rich mix of Khadi ,Silk and Brocades in bright huesof Red, Blue, Green and Orange, setting the stage ablaze with the confident gait and appealing attires.


All the teams beautifully entwined various textiles found in India ranging from Batik, Kalamkari, Crepe, Silk, Brocades, Khadi Cotton, Phulkari,KanthaWork, Rabari Thread work, Satin and Georgette with abundant use of "PomPoms" which accentuated the beauty of their outfits. The participants, with their creations, brought alive the richness of Indian textiles associated with various States of India.

The Team from IMS-Design and Innovation Academy presented a very innovative Concept of “From Inorganic to Organic” and the participants sashayed down the ramp indifferent outfits made of Khadi Cotton.

The Teams were adjudged by Ms. Neelam Singh, Founder, Kohinoor Experts Pvt.Ltd.;Ms. Kamal Kapur, MD, Achievers Consulting; Ms Bhavya Goel, Fashion Designer & Founder, AEOMCOUTURE and Ms. Taruni Goyal, Fashion Designers& Founder, SHUBHAM AND TARUNI.

Shukla- Vice Chancellor, Amity University and Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Joshi- Director General, Amity Directorate Of Applied Arts/ Fine Arts/ Performing Arts And Visual Arts.The Teams were being awarded Gift hampers from eminent fashion Brands.
