Mauritius Student Visa – Required Documents Checklist

Introduction:
To apply for a student visa for Mauritius, you must submit the following documents. Please ensure that all originals are hand-signed where required, clearly readable, properly stamped, and not older than 20 days at the time of submission. Carefully follow the instructions for each document to avoid delays or rejection of your visa application.

1. Personal Documents

  1. Original Visa Application Form – duly hand-filled and signed by the applicant (template attached in email).
  2. Original 4 passport-sized photographs.
  3. Photocopy of Passport (biodata page) – must be valid beyond your stay; residential address should be visible if present.
  4. Original handwritten Acceptance Letter – dated and signed by hand (refer to the attached template for guidance).

2. Financial Documents

  1. Original Bank Statement with bank logo, letterhead, and footer with bank details – covering the most recent 6 months, stamped, dated, and signed on each page.
    • The balance must exceed MUR 150,000 or USD 3,500.
    • After arrival in Mauritius and upon receiving the full visa, students will need to provide proof of funds of Rs 150,000 in a local bank account (original).

3. Sponsor / Guardian Documents

  1. Copy of passport/ID of your sponsor/guardian – residential address should be visible if present.
  2. Original letter of sponsorship from the same person – dated and signed; the signature must match the passport/ID.

4. Medical Documents

  1. Original Medical Certificate from your country of origin – dated, stamped, and signed. This must include:
    • HIV Report – original, stamped, dated, and signed on each page
    • Hepatitis Report – original, stamped, dated, and signed on each page
    • Chest X-ray Report – original, stamped, dated, and signed on each page
    • Medical Certificate – issued by a doctor certifying that you are HIV and Hepatitis negative and that your chest X-ray is normal; must be signed and stamped by the doctor.

5. Police / Morality Documents

  1. Original Police Certificate / Morality Certificate with your recent passport number – dated, stamped, and signed.
    • Online certificates must include a barcode or verification link.

6. Academic Documents

  1. Copy of your Secondary School Certificate, WAEC, or any other academic certificate.
  • Ensure that the date of birth matches your passport.
  • If there is a mismatch, provide an affidavit.

7. Accommodation Documents(if already arranged)

  1. Accommodation Letter
  2. Copy of Landlord’s ID
  3. Most Recent Copy of Landlord’s Utility Bill

Notes:

  • If accommodation is arranged through the institution, allocation depends on current availability.
  • A deposit may be required to secure accommodation while the visa application is processed.
  • The accommodation letter is mandatory for the visa process.
