To support sustainable practices, the university has established a Waste Management Policy acknowledged by all stakeholders and signed contracts for the maintenance of sewage treatment plants (STPs) and effluent treatment plants (ETPs) to ensure the availability of safe water on campus. The Solid Waste Management Policy aims to protect the environment, conserve resources, and reduce waste toxicity.

Rainwater harvesting is a crucial aspect of the university's sustainability strategy, with an elaborate system of 43 wells and 112 bores designed to maximize rainwater collection. Regular cleaning of these systems ensures effective groundwater recharge. The university also strives for zero water discharge by treating and reusing wastewater from various sources on campus.

The wastewater generated is categorized and treated through STPs and ETPs, which helps conserve water and lessen environmental impact. The university monitors its water usage and promotes sustainable practices, including rainwater harvesting and the use of water-efficient technologies. All harvesting pits are cleaned annually before the monsoon season.

The university has received funding for a project to clean wastewater near Bilaspur village using advanced technology, transforming it into a clean water source. This initiative has led to community engagement and education around water management.
